Anyone who’s watched the past few days of “The Young and the Restless” knows that it has been heart wrenching, to say the least. The hit-and-run accident that caused the death of Billy and Chloe’s young daughter, Delia, has been center stage, and the performances that have gone along with the emotional storyline are what Emmy dreams are made of. We caught up with Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman), who not only had plenty of kudos for her onscreen best friend, Elizabeth Hendrickson, but also had a few details as to how the tragic story will affect Chelsea… and beyond.

The peer votes have been cast, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards! Five categories have been announced, including Lead Actress and Lead Actor, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor, as well as Younger Actress and Younger Actor. It was recently announced that Darnell Williams would be joining the cast of “The Young and the Restless” in 2012. The two-time Daytime Emmy Award winner becomes the forth “All My Children” actor to land on the high rated CBS daytime dramas since the 41-year old ABC soap went off the air in September 2011. He joins Jacob Young who returned to “The Bold and the Beautiful” last September, and past and future co-stars Debbi Morgan and Melissa Claire Egan.
