After nearly a year in a coma, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” will once again say hello to Phyllis Summers when daytime veteran Gina Tognoni takes over the role beginning Monday, August 11, Soap Opera Network has learned exclusively. In our tribute to the character as she gets ready to wake up for the first time in the coming weeks, we take a look back at what Phyllis has missed while she was sleeping, including what former loves Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) have been up to since last seeing their favorite feisty redhead.

Soap Opera Network’s 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet coverage continues, this time with “The Young and the Restless'” Elizabeth Hendrickson (ex-Chloe Mitchell), who was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress. Her co-star, Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), may have taken home the award at the end of the night, but Hendrickson was shining like a winner on the red carpet!

In 2013, “General Hospital’s” Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine) and Kelly Sullivan (ex-Connie Falconeri) and “The Young and the Restless'” Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Newman), Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) and Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Fisher) proved they were the outstanding supporting ladies for their respective daytime dramas. They now compete with each other to find out which of them was the most Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Daytime Drama Series during “The 41st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.”

After her daughter died last year as a result of a hit-and-run, a desperate Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will attempt everything in her power to have another child with Billy Abbott (David Tom), even going so far as to drug and “seduce” the married man into having sex with her. The question is, is it a “sinful seduction” or an outright rape? In a newly released promo for next week’s episodes of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” the series calls what Chloe is doing to get her hands on Billy’s crown jewels (pun intended) as a sinful seduction, but visually it’s clear that Billy isn’t even conscious for Chloe’s plan. Meanwhile, Billy is also unknowingly already dealing with another set of baby drama. It turns out that his wife, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), is pregnant! The only problem is that it could be Billy’s, or it could be Stitch’s (Sean Carrigan). As for Ian Ward (Ray Wise), he better not get in the way of his son Dylan (Steve Burton) when it comes to the woman he loves, or he’ll end up paying the ultimate price.

Shortly after Elizabeth Hendrickson announced that she was leaving the role of “The Young and the Restless’” Chloe Mitchell, Soap Opera Network had the chance of speaking with the actress about departing the role she’s played for the last six years. Today, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences officially announced the nominees of the 41st annual Daytime Emmy Awards! The list of pre-noms in the categories for Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor and Actress, Supporting Actor and Actress, Younger Actor and Actress and more was whittled down to just a few final contenders who will compete for the coveted National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Emmy award statuettes during the event that will be taking place on Sunday, June 22.
