On the Thursday, October 22, 2026 episode of ‘Beyond the Gates’, it was two Anitas for the price of one, Dani (Karla Mosley) got multiple bouquets of flowers, and a blast from Bill’s past came in like a wrecking ball.
You Shouldn’t Be Here
Vernon (Clifton Davis) was wowed by Anita’s TV wardrobe, commenting that Dani would be surprised they were all doing the Tia Allen interview with her…after pointing out that Anita looked good enough to pick up where they had left off the night before. At Dani’s house, Andre (Sean Freeman) presented in the red leather jacket that Pamela (Cady McClain) had wanted him to wear, and Dani got assurance that Andre would only need to appear in a few photos, not in the interview itself.
Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) finished up in Bill’s office, happy they’d been able to stop June’s friend from being evicted. When Naomi addressed Dani’s interview, she was shocked to learn that Bill had been personally asked to make a showing. She and the arriving Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) thought it was a bad idea for Bill to participate in case the host wanted to dig up dirt on his marriage to – and messy divorce from – Dani, but Bill wanted to show Dani some overdue support.

Dani was escorted onto the makeshift set Tia’s production had fashioned out of the country club event hall and was floored to learn she was going to be on Tia’s Welcome to Your Life retrospective show. She was unaware there would be other guests until Tia (Tabitha Brown) brought Anita and Vernon on to talk about how they’d handled Dani’s decision to go to New York at age 17 and get into modeling. Then Pamela recalled how she’d met Dani six months into her career and pushed to be her agent after seeing her potential.
Tia next invited Chelsea and Naomi on, calling them the reasons Dani had given up the runway. After each of the young women described their own childhoods and ambitions, Tia brought the warmth to a standstill by asking Dani what was going through her mind when she’d pulled a gun on Bill at his wedding. Dani recovered, however, and admitted that she had done things in a dark place that she wasn’t proud of. Naomi and Chelsea stepped in and described Dani’s comeback as an example of resilience.
Hollywood Divorce
Andre was displeased to find Bill lounging in the country club lobby; Bill, barely acknowledging Andre, sniffed that he had been asked to be on Tia’s show. After Bill snarked that Andre was trying to talk him out of sitting with Dani on set, Andre sternly commanded, “Don’t embarrass her.” Bill allowed a gentleman’s agreement as Tia lauded Dani as being the first Black woman to be featured on the cover of Eye on Fashion magazine.
[Eye on Fashion was first established as being put out by Spencer Publications on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1988; Karla Mosley, who plays Dani, portrayed model Maya Avant on that show from 2013 to 2019.]
As Dani was telling Tia she didn’t want to discuss Bill any further out of respect for his privacy, Tia had Bill ushered in anyway. Bill fumbled when Tia touched on Dani quitting modeling because of him, but Dani chimed in that it had been her choice as well. Asked how he had repaid the favor, Bill bluntly replied that he had let his family down and should have cared more about his marriage than his ego. Andre watched the monitors, arms folded, as Bill spoke.
Love Twins
Anita (Tamara Tunie) was stunned when Nicole brought Anita Williams impersonator Jackie Tyree [also played by Tamara Tunie] into the club. Jackee playfully caressed Vernon and told Anita that she needed a “Vernon” in her act, which was still going strong. On camera, Tia brought out the selfie Jackie had taken with the drunken Dani and Andre in Vegas after having performed their wedding, and Jackie admitted that she had seen a true connection between the couple, even under the unusual circumstances. Jackie also plugged her sold-out shows at The Lexura every Saturday night.
Bill watched uncomfortably as Andre confessed that he had known Tatum Stewart, whose line Dani had been modeling exclusively, before he had pretended meeting Tatum for the first time. Andre added that he and Tatum had discussed Dani working for her, but he hadn’t wanted it to seem like they were doing her a favor by reinvigorating her career. Dani was touched that Andre chosen not to involve himself and had hung back so that she could make the decision to represent Tatum on her own.
Girls Ain’t Nothing But Trouble
At the bar, Andre happened upon a woman who introduced herself as Kalista Kilroy (Kandi Burruss). Kalista was aware of Andre’s career as a photographer but would only cryptically say that Andre would soon know who she was. As Kalista lingered, Tatum (Milly Figuereo) admitted that she had invited Bill to onto Tia’s show, since Dani waving a gun around at his wedding was still in people’s minds, and she wanted to redirect the narrative by showing how well they were getting along in the present.
Andre asked Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) if she remembered Kalista; unable to, Nicole put the question to Vernon, who knew the name sounded familiar. Pamela finally revealed that Kalista had been Dani’s first manager, before Dani had fired Kalista for being inattentive and dismissive. Kalista found Bill, who asked, “What the hell are you doing here?” After smugly saying she had also been asked to honor Dani, Pamela tried to push Kalista out, but Kalista smirked that she had been summoned by Tia directly.
I Love Coffee, I Love Tea
Dani was having a wonderful time with Tia’s interview until Kalista came on; Dani didn’t know where to look when Kalista immediately piled on the attitude. Tia listened as Kalista crowed about having taken the “green” Dani and made her iconic – though she’d had to teach Dani everything. Dani tried to remain graceful as Kalista complained about having been dumped by her, but even Tia fell silent when Kalista sniped that she should have taught Dani how to hold on to a man.
Tia attempted to head Kalista off, but Kalista made sure to brag about how Bill had made her shiver when they’d fooled around behind Dani’s back. Bill ordered the camera people to stop filming and Dani left the set as Kalista gloated, telling Bill that karma didn’t forget. Dani cried to Andre that she was ready to go home, but he and Anita just barely convinced Dani not to give Kalista the satisfaction of not completing the interview. Bill began to explain to Dani that the affair with Kalista had been long ago and meaningless, but Andre refused to let him continue.
Solo
Apologizing profusely, Tia said she’d had no idea Kalista was going ambush Dani. In the lobby, Bill made the same vow to Anita, Vernon, Naomi, and Chelsea; Vernon was able to cut Bill the tiniest bit of slack, though Anita wasn’t feeling as generous. Nicole was the final participant in the retrospective and hailed Dani as a role model whose joy and light were irrepressible. Dani, Nicole said, had taught the entire family how to bounce back, and Dani became emotional as they hugged.
Andre wanted Bill gone, but Bill was determined to plead his case to Dani. Nevertheless, Naomi and Chelsea felt it would be better if Bill gave Dani time to cool off, as she might be more receptive to his explanation at another time. Bill started to leave as Dani was triumphantly returned to the lobby by Pamela and attention lavished on her by her family. From a distance, Bill paused for a moment, his status as an outsider never more obvious.
