With Billy Flynn departing the daytime drama series to take over the role of Cane Ashby on “The Young and the Restless,” having made his debut on the Thursday, June 19 episode, it looks like “Days of our Lives” has found a new Chad DiMera to fill the void left by his departure.
On Monday, it was announced that Conner Floyd, himself coming off a three-and-a-half-year stint as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV on “The Young and the Restless,” has been cast as the DiMera heir and begins taping this week. However, due to the show’s advanced tape-to-air schedule, Floyd won’t appear on screen until at least April 2026. Meanwhile, Flynn will continue appearing on the series through at least early 2026.
In a 2021 interview with Soap Opera Network, Floyd noted he was up for the soap opera acting challenge, saying, “It’s a load of material. The general consensus from people out here is you’ve got to come prepared.” He added, “I’ve had to try a couple of different things as far as memorization goes because they’re giving me two-page monologues… they’re giving me five-page scenes where we’re going back and forth, left and right, so it’s tough but I like it. I like the challenge. I’m definitely up for it.”
A final air date for Floyd on “The Young and the Restless” was unknown at press time. The actor had been on recurring status with the series since May 2024.
Floyd’s other credits include roles in such movies as “Malicious Motives,” “Stolen in Her Sleep,” and more recently, “River of Ghosts,” among others.

YuVee
Last summer, Floyd was named as the spokesperson for YuVee, the since-shuttered streaming app/aggregator that helped individuals find, organize, and watch movies and TV shows.
In a promo campaign, Floyd assumed the persona of “Bryan Reynolds,” a fictional action/comedy star who sounds eerily similar to a real-life actor who starred as one-half of one of summer 2024’s biggest box office performers.
Deadline was the first to report Floyd’s casting at “Days of our Lives.”
