With news that Conner Floyd had been cast as Chad DiMera on “Days of our Lives,” former portrayer Billy Flynn, who now appears as Cane Ashby on “The Young and the Restless,” took to social media to congratulate the actor on landing the role on the Peacock exclusive series.
“Congrats @connergfloyd! Chad is [sic] great hands. You’re gonna crush it man,” said Flynn in a message posted to his Instagram story timeline.
On Monday, it was announced that Floyd, who is exiting “The Young and the Restless” as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV after a three-and-a-half-year stint, began work at Burbank Studios, where “Days of our Lives” tapes, with the show highlighting his hiring via a post on Instagram which shows him standing in front of dressing room 18B, his new home away from home.

Some of Floyd’s new cast members chimed in, welcoming him to the daytime drama series, including Greg Rikaart (Leo), Eric Martsolf (Brady) and Linsey Godfrey (Sarah).
“See y’all in Salem!” commented Floyd on Instagram in response to his casting on the series, with his first air date set for sometime in April 2026 due to the show’s advanced tape-to-air schedule. As a result, Flynn will continue appearing on the series through at least early 2026 while simultaneously appearing as Cane Ashby on “The Young and the Restless.”
Floyd joined the contract cast of “The Young and the Restless” in October 2021. By May 2024, he had dropped to recurring status. It’s understood he’s on contract at “Days of our Lives” following his casting.
