The 2021 Writers Guild Awards nominations were announced. "Days of our Lives" and "General Hospital" are competing for the award. "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless" did not submit for awards contention.

Nominations for the 2021 Writers Guild Awards were announced today, and this year the writing teams of “Days of our Lives” and “General Hospital” will be competing for the coveted award in the category of Daytime Drama. “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” did not submit themselves for awards contention this year. “Y&R” won the award in 2020.

Representing “DAYS” is head writer Ron Carlivati and his writing team consisting of Lorraine Broderick, Joanna Cohen, Carolyn Culliton, Richard Culliton, Rick Draughon, David Kreizman, Rebecca McCarty, Ryan Quan, Dave Ryan, Katherine D. Schock, and Elizabeth Snyder.

Representing “GH” is head writers Dan O’Connor and Christopher Van Etten, and their writing team consisting of associate head writer Anna Theresa Cascio and writers Barbara BloomSuzanne Flynn, Charlotte Gibson, Lucky Gold, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, David Rupel, Lisa Seidman, Donny Sheldon, and Scott Sickles.

With the COVID-19 pandemic still very much a concern, and the need for wearing masks and social distancing still being a necessity in everyday life, this year’s 73rd annual awards ceremony will take place virtually on Sunday, March 21.
