Exactly 20 years ago today, NBC premiered a sitcom about a circle of friends living in Manhattan. Little did the network know, “Friends” would skyrocket in ratings, becoming one of the most popular sitcoms in television history. The show made David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston (real-life daughter of “Days of our Lives’” John Aniston [Victor Kiriakis]) household names. “Days of our Lives” has been on fire lately with a plethora of steamy fall storylines, and something exciting has happened behind the scenes, as well: The show’s executive producer, Ken Corday, was awarded Operation Smile’s John Connor Humanitarian Award!

As previously reported, cast members of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” will once again take part in a special “Day of DAYS” fan event scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8 at Universal CityWalk in Hollywood. This year the celebration takes place on the actual 49th anniversary of the daytime drama series, making it all the more special for fans looking to see their favorite Salemites in person. As always, the event is free and will begin at 10:00 AM with a “Day of DAYS” welcome party with cast introductions, followed by autograph signings, a cast Q&A session, photo booth fun for fans and much more.  The day will culminate with a preview of an upcoming episode of the drama series immediately following the cast Q&A.

With CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” getting a new head writer, despite the network not yet officially commenting on any pending changes at the soap, actor Tristan Rogers (Colin Atkinson) is the first to embrace Charles ‘Chuck’ Pratt, Jr. to the show.

Actress Seana Kofoed is set to appear on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” as Madame Isadora, a psychic with plenty of future tales for some of Genoa City’s residents, reports CBS Soaps In Depth.

“Days of our Lives” debuted the new Chad DiMera on Friday, September 12 with Billy Flynn in the shoes of EJ’s (James Scott) little brother, and the character hit the canvas with an almost literal bang!

While she’s already been airing for just over a month on CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” actress Gina Tognoni will officially join the residents of Genoa City when she brings Phyllis Summers back to town after the character had been in a coma for more than a year. In a newly released promo, the network touts the debut of Tognoni on the soap as she declares trouble is coming to town after being “well rested and ready.”

Featuring the long-awaited return of Shemar Moore as Malcolm Winters, CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” posted its largest weekly audience and best Women 18-49 rating since March, per Nielsen Media Research ratings data. Did Moore help boost the soap?

CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is getting a new head writer in the form of Charles ‘Chuck’ Pratt, Jr., who is best known for his writing stints at “All My Children,” “General Hospital” and “Santa Barbara.” The news was first reported by Highlight Hollywood. Thanks to the power of social media, Pratt has already updated his Twitter profile to reflect his writing duties at “Y&R” while also indicating he will receive an executive producer credit.

Although the network and Sony Pictures Television, producers of the series, have yet to issue comment on the matter, Daytime Confidential is reporting that Pratt will lead the writing team of daytime’s number one drama series beginning in November.
