UPDATE: ‘AMC’ Alum Adam Mayfield Set to Stir Up Trouble on ‘DAYS’

Former “All My Children” star Adam Mayfield (ex-Scott Chandler) has joined the cast of NBC’s “Days of our Lives” in an as yet to be revealed role, the actor’s website reports.

UPDATE 8:56 PM, ET: A “DAYS” rep tells Soap Opera Network, “He’ll be on for a short arc in January. Someone from Serena’s [] past.”

Former “” star (ex-Scott Chandler) has joined the cast of NBC’s “” in an as yet to be revealed role, the actor’s website reports.

Published in the biography section of the site, Mayfield is said to have returned this fall to daytime as his “DAYS” character will stir up trouble in Salem. Considering the winter season is about to begin, and Mayfield has yet to air, it’s understood that the actor will appear sometime in 2015 – the soap films approximately 5-6 months ahead of airdate.

While it’s unknown whether they will share the screen together or if their characters are tied to each other in any way, Mayfield’s joining “DAYS” marks the first time he will appear on the same series at the same time as , who plays Aiden Jennings on “DAYS.” Mayfield and Cosgrove previously portrayed Scott Chandler on “AMC,” with Cosgrove assuming the role from Mayfield in 2010.

Mayfield has appeared in episodes of “The Client List” and “Mystery Girls.”
