The soap world was hit this morning with the exciting news that “” and “” star (ex-Fox Crane, “Passions”) has been cast as “’” Adam Newman. Early reaction to the casting news seems to be positive thus far, and that goes for former portrayer ’s response, as well!

“I really like Justin Hartley. He’s a good guy. We really get alone well,” the actor tweeted in a passing of the baton, so to speak. “I wish him the best. Be kind to him.”

As fans may recall, Muhney played the role of Adam from 2009 until early January of 2014, when a fiery car accident left the character presumed dead. The character’s hands have been seen onscreen from time to time since that point, leaving it clear that the show planned to recast the role. News of the switch hit this morning, and Hartley will reportedly step into the role just in time for November sweeps.
