By now you’ve probably already been made aware of the fact that CBS Daytime’s “The Young and the Restless” has been the #1 rated daytime drama for a nearly unheard of 25 consecutive years! In a newly released promo, the network touts that fact on air where it notes that the show and its cast of characters have “been with you all of your life, laughing, loving, living and together you’ve made it the #1 daytime drama for 25 years. Here’s to many more.” The promo ends with the tag “It’s Your Life,” and a shot of Joshua Morrow (Nicholas Newman) highlighting the shows #1 status with his fingers.

On Wednesday, January 1, 2014 – New Year’s Day – CBS will air episode #6536 of “The Young and the Restless,” which originally aired on December 31, 1998. The episode found family and friends gather at the Colonnade Room for a New Year’s celebration, while Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) celebrated the new year with Cassie (Camryn Grimes).

In a newly released promo, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Katie (Heather Tom) share a tender moment as the clock strikes 12, while Hope (Kim Matula) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks) look to move on…together, and Donna (Jennifer Gareis) and Quinn (Rena Sofer) stand their ground as they prepare for battle.

Former “All My Children” star Cady McClain (ex-Dixie Cooney) announced recently that her short film, “Flip Fantasia,” has been accepted into the 9th Annual Macon Film Festival, which will be held from February 27 – March 2, 2014 and will take place at the Cox Capitol Theatre, The Douglass Theatre and The 567 Center for Renewal in downtown Macon, GA. Describing the film she wrote, produced and directed on her website, McClain says, “I made this as a labor of love right out of my heart.” She adds, “It’s a love song to NYC, to my wild youth, to crazy people I have known that changed my life, to being raw, to innocence, to friendship, to true hearts, to broken hearts, and to the pain of having to deal with the hardest parts of life when you are very, very young… as I did.”

In a promo that puts emphasis on the word “new,” CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” is promising viewers a new year filled with new drama, infidelity, secrets, and reunions. In the case of infidelity, Billy (Billy Miller) won’t let the search for his daughter’s killer stop him from bumping uglies with Kelly (Cynthia Watros), while Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) share a reunion of sorts, and Dylan (Steve Burton) wants more information from momma Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on her secret past. Also look for Victor (Eric Braeden) and Jack (Peter Bergman) as they toast to an exciting new year!
