In a message posted on her Facebook page earlier today, “Good Morning America’s” Robin Roberts for the first time publicly acknowledged her sexuality. The ABC News anchor posted her message one year to the day after reaching the critical stage of 100 days following the bone marrow transplant that saved her life.
Roberts began her message to friends, fans and followers with an attached image of herself from 12/29/12, which shows her reuniting with her dog, KJ. She noted, “Hard to believe this was 1 year ago today..when I reached a critical milestone of 100 days post transplant…and KJ was finally allowed to come back home.” She added, “At this moment I am at peace and filled with joy and gratitude. I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health. I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life.”
In honor of the upcoming new year, Roberts shared, “I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.” The Amber that Roberts refers is Amber Laign, a massage therapist originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, notes People magazine.
