As noted in our recent interview with Greg Meng, co-executive producer, "Days of our Lives," the NBC Daytime soap opera is releasing "Days of our Lives Better Living: Cast Secrets for a Healthier, Balanced Life," a new book that delves into five better living topics - nutrition, exercise, style, inspiration and balance.
If you think picking out an outfit for work in the morning is stressful, imagine what it would be like if your work was going to the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, where swarms of reporters and photographers were going to capture your every detail! Stressful, yes. But also ridiculously fun! Soap Opera Network caught up with some of daytime’s hottest stars on the red carpet during the exciting event, and they spilled details on who they were wearing and why they chose the specific looks they did. So sit back, relax and hear the stories on how these bold performers got so dang beautiful!
“Days of our Lives” Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) and Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas) have a lot to celebrate: In addition to surpassing their Kickstarter page donation goal for their new project, “Addicts Anonymous,” a new star has joined the cast: “Full House” alum, Lori Loughlin!
NBC’s popular comedy, “The Office,” just aired its final episode, but fans of the single-camera mockumentary may have something similar to look forward to: “Days of our Lives” stars Shawn Christian (Daniel Jonas) and Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) have teamed up with Jack Briggs and Nate Hartley to create “Addicts Annonymous,” a possible web-bound comedy that brings the Peacock Network’s Dunder Mifflin-based show to mind — with a slight “The Breakfast Club” twist!
“Days of our Lives’” Arianne Zucker may have received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in this year’s Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards race, but she’s not taking all of the credit. “I’m so proud of all of us,” she says of her nomination as well as the show’s 17 other Emmy nods. “We’re an ensemble cast and crew. There’s no “I” in this team. I had Shawn Christian [Daniel Jonas] and Missy [Reeves, Jennifer Horton], almost everybody in my scenes, so I didn’t do it alone. So that’s what’s pretty cool. Everybody helped lift me up.”
“Days Of Our Lives’” Meredith Scott Lynn (Anne Milbauer) has had an impressive 25-year acting career, appearing in popular shows like “Weeds,” “American Horror Story,” and “Desperate Housewives,” as well as in the film “Legally Blonde.” But Anne is perhaps one of the most fun characters she’s ever played, simply because, as the actress puts it: “She’s such an extreme bitch!”
The peer votes have been cast, and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the Drama Performer Pre-Nominations for the 40th Annual Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards! Five categories have been announced, including Lead Actress and Lead Actor, Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor, as well as Younger Actress and Younger Actor. Without further adieu, here are the pre-nominees:
NBC's "Days of our Lives" is continuing its nationwide fan event tour this February when cast members of the series gather throughout Universal Orlando Restort in Florida, including a meet and greet with fans at the parks Universal CityWalk. Cast members scheduled to attend are John Aniston, Camila Banus, Shawn Christian, Casey Deidrick, Galen Gering, Kate Mansi, Eric Martsolf, Peggy McCay, James Scott and Arianne Zucker. The event will be held on Saturday, February 23.
As expected, NBC has renewed "Days of our Lives" through September 2014. The news comes just days after NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said, “I think ‘DAYS’ is going to stick around,” during NBC's portion of the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “I don’t know that I’m at liberty to say that officially yet, but it’s not going anywhere," Greenblatt added. The "DAYS" renewal was announced today by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.
For the past couple of years NBC's "Days of our Lives" has been holding its "A Day of Days" fan event at Universal Studios CityWalk, where fans of the drama series could meet and great some of their favorite stars and get signed autographs. Unfortunately, this year the network has decided not to continue that event, and instead opted to branch it out a little bit (similar to how ABC canceled Super Soap Weekend, which turned into the Soap Nation Tour). Earlier this year, in a posting on the soaps operas Facebook page, the network said, "Ask and you shall receive! NBC has heard your requests and we are taking our yearly fan event on the road! Instead of holding our event at Universal City in California, members of the 'Days of our Lives' cast will be traveling to a few cities around the country. Dates and cities to be announced soon!" That "soon" is now.
As Soap Opera Network first reported earlier today, NBC.com has revealed some of the actors taking part in various aspects of communication with fans of "Days of our Lives" so as to tide them over while NBC airs its coverage of the Olympic Games. The interactions begins Monday, July 30 and last through Friday, August 10 at 2:00 PM ET.
