Final Destination for MacInnes Wood is the Big Screen

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) – - Jacqueline Macinnes Wood makes her big screen debut this month in the 3D supernatural horror-thriller ““.

Wood, who currently portrays young spitfire vixen Steffy Forrester on CBS’ ““, can be seen in the fifth installment of the “Final Destination” horror film series when it hits theaters this Friday, August 12, 2011. Wood portrays Olivia, one of the survivors of a bridge collapse, who later finds herself in a dangerous predicament while going through laser eye surgery (see clip below).

“Final Destination 5″ also stars Nicholas D’Agosto (“,” “Supernatural”), Emma Bell (“Supernatural,” ““), (“,” ““), (“ER,” ““), Courtney B. Vance (“FlashForward”, “The Closer”) Ellen Wroe (“Gary Unmarried,” “Huge”), (“American Dreams”), Miles Fisher (“Gossip Girl,” “Mad Men”), and Tony Todd (“24,” ““).

Shawn Christian Joins ‘DAYS’

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Former “” bad boy joins the cast of “” as Salem University Hospital’s newest hot doctor.

Beginning Tuesday, March 4, Christian begins airing on the NBC soap as Dr. Daniel Jonas. The character is first introduced to Chelsea Brady (Rachel Melvin) by Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). Dr. Jonas is said to be heavily involved in the upcoming Bo Brady storyline.

Christian made his television debut on CBS’s “As The World Turns” in 1994 as the original Mike Kasnoff. He has also appeared in such primetime series as “,” “Beverly Hills, 90210″ and more recently as Johnny Durant on The WB’s “.” The series aired for two seasons on the network and co-starred Lori Loughlin (““) and singer-actor Jesse McCartney (“All My Children”).

Shawn can next be seen on the big screen in “” with , “” with (““) and “Killer Moves,” which are all due out for release later this year.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Christian began taping on Monday, February 11.

From ‘Gilmore’ to ‘American Dreams’

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “” bad boy Milo Ventimiglia has joined the cast of NBC”s ratings deprived “American Dreams.” Ventimiglia, who played Jess on the WB drama series, will star alongside former “Guiding Light” actress Brittany Snow (ex-Susan Lemay), who plays Meg Pryor on the series. He will portray her love interest, who is described as a radical high school senior whose family moves in next door to the Pryors.

In addition to his work on “Gilmore,” the actor was signed on to star in it”s 2003 midseason offshoot tentatively titled “: Spin-Off.” More recently the actor appeared in the ABC pilot “Gramercy Park,” which was not picked up by the network. The pilot also starred from NBC”s “Passions” and from FOX”s “The O.C.”

The actor can next be seen in the new Wes Craven feature film as Bo in “Cursed,” which will be released in theaters on October 1. The film is about a serial killer stalking women in Los Angeles, California who finds himself cursed by a craving he cannot define, a change he cannot describe, and by the relentless sounds he hears each night.

“Cursed” also stars Christina Ricci as Ellie Hudson (““), Corey Feldman as himself (“Blown Away”), Shannon Elizabeth (“American Pie,” “Scary Movie”) as Becky, (“Scrubs,” ““), Scott Baio as Himself (““) James Brolin (“,” ““) and (“Dawson”s Creek”) as Jake.

“Cursed” is being released by Dimension Films, a division of Miramax Film Corp.
