As the fourth week of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” comes to a close, and with the recent reduction in weekly episodes of both “AMC” and “OLTL” now at just two originals, The OnLine Network has also reduced their Friday “MORE” series, which now combines the two soaps into one Friday recap/interview episode.
In today’s episode, “Soaps, sex and stars behind the scenes of ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live!’ Robert S. Woods (Bo Buchanan, “OLTL”) has a “first.” Lindsay Hartley (Cara Castillo, “AMC”) on getting down and dirty on camera! Glamor in Pine Valley’s closets and exclusive first looks at next week!”
Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time for barbeques, catching up with friends and working on that (long overdue) tan, but being soap fans and all, it’s only natural to squeeze in a little soap-worthy entertainment, as well. Luckily, Lifetime Movie Network knows this and chose tonight to premiere ‘The Perfect Boss,’ an original movie staring “Melrose Place” alums Jamie Luner (ex-Liza Colby, “All My Children”) and Linden Ashby (ex-Paul Hollingsworth, “Days of our Lives,” ex- Cameron Kirsten, “The Young and the Restless”)!
In a statement released a short time ago, Agnes Nixon, creator of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” and a consultant at Prospect Park, speaks out on Prospect Park’s decision to replace the “AMC” head writing team. Lisa Connor and Chip Hayes have been named new co-head writers of the soap. In addition, Jessica Klein and Marin Gazzaniga have been named the new co-head writers of “One Life to Live.”
“It is now my pleasure to announce that the future stories involving the lives of ‘All My Children’s’ beloved characters are from now on in the capable hands of the co-head writers Lisa Connor and Chip Hayes, both of whom have a long and stellar history with our program,” says Nixon. She added, “Lisa Connor collaborated with me on the final draft of the ‘All My Children’ Twenty – Fifth Anniversary Family Album. For two years she also served as a line producer of the program and was creatively involved in plotting and writing daily episodes since 2002.’
“In addition to his six years as a producer on ‘Melrose Place,’ Chip Hayes in 2003, became a vital member of those devising the ongoing drama of ‘All My Children.’ He remains in this crucial work through its incarnation on the internet.
“I agree with Prospect Park’s decision to replace the head writing team for ‘All My Children.’ However, I particularly want to thank Marlene McPherson and Elizabeth Snyder for their incredibly positive dedication to the show and their constant helpful attitude during many long hours of intense work. It is greatly appreciated.”
Many of you have probably not heard the full theme song used for “All My Children” titled “We Are The Love” by Imaginary Friend, but no one has heard the full “One Life to Live” theme titled “Brand New Start” by IZA, who is newly signed to Boss Lady Entertainment and Snoop Lion‘s Berhane Sound System label, until now!
The OnLine Network announced today that both theme songs are now available for streaming via their newly created SoundCloud page. In addition to the opening theme music, fans will also get to hear “Parachute” by Denyse Tontz (Miranda Montgomery), which was featured in a recent episode of “AMC.”
With both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” rocking it out on their new TOLN online home as well as having quite a fan following on social media sites, it’s no surprise that the shows also have an incredibly fun Pinterest page! From character albums, to behind-the-scenes albums, new pics, vintage pics and everything in between, the page has plenty of album-worthy entertainment. So sit back, relax and enjoy scrolling through everything Llanivew and Pine Valley have to offer!

Like “All My Children” co-star Jill Larson (Opal Cortlandt) before him, Vincent Irizarry (David Hayward) has posted a message on his Facebook page discussing the “AMC” and “One Life to Live” episode order reduction by Prospect Park. In his message, the actor notes, “With the great number of episodes being offered for this year, I’m confident that we’ll all be satisfied with the many hours of viewing pleasure available to us all. We, as a cast and production team, are extremely proud of our beloved shows airing, and can’t be more grateful to all of you for your overwhelming expressions of excitement and support for all we’re doing to bring these iconic shows back for you to enjoy. We’re also sincerely humbled by your very vocal expressions of love and enthusiasm for what you’ve all been seeing. It is ours, and most importantly, Prospect Park’s intention to do whatever possible to enable us to continue bringing these cherished shows into your homes, whether via your flat screens, your tablets, computers, or even your cell phones for many, many more years, and hopefully, generations to come.”

The revival of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” could be just the start of cancelled network shows finding new homes in other places. Not only will “Arrested Development,” a popular comedy Fox cancelled in 2006, continue on Netflix starting Sunday, May 26, but ABC’s recently cancelled ‘Body of Proof’ may get a similar second chance!
According to Deadline Hollywood, the series — which stars “Desperate Housewives’” Dana Delany — is being considered for pickup by TNT, USA and WGN America, and here’s why: The show picked up 8.6 million viewers last week alone (several million more than ABC’s “Nashville” and “Revenge,” two shows ABC decided not to cancel).
With just one month left before the premiere of Lifetime’s “Devious Maids,” the cable network has released key art material highlighting Ana Ortiz (“Ugly Betty”), Dania Ramirez (“Entourage”), Roselyn Sanchez (“Without a Trace”), Edy Ganem (“Livin’ Loud”) and Judy Reyes(“Scrubs”) as five ambitious maids who, while working for the rich and famous in Beverly Hills, dream of wealthy lives of their own. Sadly, murder is at the center of their world as one of their fellow maids is murdered and the quintet makes it their mission to find out who committed the heinous crime.
“Maids” also stars Susan Lucci (ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children”), Matt Cedeno (ex-Brandon Walker, “Days of our Lives”) and Brianna Brown (ex-Lisa Niles, “General Hospital”). Look for the series to premiere Sunday, June 23 at 10:00 PM ET on Lifetime.
