'One Life's' Kamar de los Reyes Now Appearing in 'Firehouse'

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Former "One Life to Live" star Kamar de los Reyes is currently living it up in Los Angeles, California these days and he's even got a "Firehouse" to prove it.

"Firehouse" for those whose minds were just in the gutter, is a play based on a true story where honor and loyalty clash with "doing the right thing" when a rookie fireman saves the life of a fellow firefighter instead of a 12 year-old girl, who is also in the burning building during a disastrous night in the South Bronx. Based on the fireman's decision, the community at large is outraged. "Firehouse" is a powerful drama that deals with race, the code of honor and even love.

In a tweet before opening night (which was last night), de los Reyes revealed that he was "feeling butterflies."

The play also stars Gerald Downey ("Leverage"), Jossara Jinaro ("Passions"), Ed Morrone ("The Fugitive Chronicles"), Elvis Nolasco ("Miracle Boys"), Bryan Rasmussen ("24"), and Jon Southwell ("What Would Jesus Do?").

For those interested in seeing the play, it runs only on Fridays at 8:00 PM now through April 29 at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, California. For tickets, call (323) 822-7898. Tickets are $22 if purchased in advance or $25 if purchased at the door. For more ticketing information, please visit the Firehouse page theatermania.com.

NBC Pulls Jesse Metcalfe Drama 'Chase' Off Schedule Due to Poor Ratings

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — NBC has pulled low rated Texas drama “Chase” from its schedule effective immediately after seeing how cheap game show “Minute to Win It” pulled in triple the numbers “Chase” had been scoring in its new Wednesday at 9:00 PM timeslot.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Deadline.com is reporting that former "All My Children" and "Summerland" actor/musician Jesse McCartney has been tapped to topline potential series "Locke & Key," which was just given a pilot order by FOX for contention on the networks 2011-2012 primetime schedule.

"Locke & Key" is based on the Joe Hill comic book of the same name and tells the story of Nina Locke (Miranda Otto) and her three children, Ty (McCartney), Kinsey (Sarah Bolger) and Bode (Skylar Gaertner), who return to Massachusetts after the brutal murder of patriarch Rendall Locke. It's 'One Life to Lose' for Rebecca Budig and Cameron Mathison on ABC's 'Castle'

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Next week ABC's "Castle" begins filming a "One Life to Live" inspired episode entitled "One Life to Lose" in which a soap opera head writer is murdered on the set of the fictional soap opera "Temptation Lane," one of New York's longest running soap operas (ala "One Life to Live" itself). The soap themed nod to "One Life" hails from "Castle" himself, Nathan Fillion, who portrayed the role of Joey Buchanan on the ABC Daytime drama series from 1994 to 1997 and again for two episodes in 2007. "All My Children's" Rebecca Budig and Cameron Mathison are set to portray roles in the episode, one as a soap star and the other as a director.

Budig will portray Mandy Bronson, the young and gorgeous diva/lead actress on the soap opera, who is said to be very aware of her sexuality and uses it to her advantage any chance she gets. Meanwhile, Mathison is set to play the role of Vince Bowers, the devastated husband of head writer Sarah Cutler (actress unknown), the victim, and also a director on "Temptation Lane." Also appearing in the episode are actors Corbin Bernsen ("The Young and the Restless," "Psyche") and Jane Seymour ("Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman"). Seymour will play Gloria Chambers, the grieving mother of the murder victim, and Bernsen will portray Lance Buchanan, a rugged, self-assured, veteran actor on "Temptation Lane," who has a romantic history with Castle's mother, Martha Rodgers (Susan Sullivan). Bernsen's characters last name "Buchanan" is sure to be one of the many hush, hush, wink, wink aspects throughout the episode.

Though TVLine.com, which originally broke the story on January 26, reported the episode as airing on Monday, March 21, an ABC representative informs Soap Opera Network that an airdate has not been set, though it will in fact air in March.

"Castle" stars Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, and Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle.
