( — "The Young and the Restless'" Jeff Branson is joining a large list of soap stars appearing in CBS' primetime procedurals with his upcoming appearance on "CSI: Miami," including David Fumero (see: David Fumero Leaves the Cold Winter of New York for 'CSI: Miami') and Leven Rambin (ex-Lily Montgomery, "All My Children"), who will both appear in upcoming episodes of the series.

A show representative tells Soap Opera Network that Branson, who portrays the role of  Ronan Malloy on "Y&R," will appear in the Sunday, March 6 episode entitled "Blood Lust" in the role of Dennis Baldwin. "Dennis is the husband of a woman who had been kidnapped and tortured," said the rep.

Today “Young and the Restless” co-executive producer Paul Rauch announced that he will be stepping down from the drama series as of Friday, April 1, which ironically enough is April Fool’s Day. This of course is no joke.

“My collaboration with Steve Kent, and Maria [Arena Bell] and Bill Bell [Jr.] has been very rewarding,” said Rauch in a statement. “I had great pleasure working with ‘Y&R’s’ magnificent cast and crew. I feel that I’ve accomplished everything that I set out to achieve, and it’s now time for me to return to New York.”

Rauch was named co-executive producer in October 2008 alongside executive producer/head writer Arena Bell. Prior to joining “Y&R,” he served time as executive producer at “Another World,” “Guiding Light,” “One Life to Live,” and “Santa Barbara.”

Nafessa Williams Joins Cast of 'One Life to Live'

(SoapOperaNetwork) — Look out Llanview.  Yet another new character is about to come to town, as actress/model Nafessa Williams is set to make her daytime debut in a newly created role.

Soap Opera Weekly is reporting that Williams, who has modeled clothing on QVC and "The Wendy Williams Show" (among others), has been cast by "OLTL" in the contract role of Deanna, who will interact with the Llanview's teen scene.  Model Management Group, which represents Williams, reported on their Facebook page on February 2 that she had signed a 4-year contract with the soap.  One other interesting note is that Visions By Elle, a company which provides "Creative Concepts for Digital Media," commented on their Facebook page back on November 4 that "Visions By Elle, LLC Congratulates Nafessa Williams for booking a recurring role on 'One Life to Live.'  Go Girl…Make those dreams come true!  You are truly Blessed."  It is uncertain if that was some miss-communication on their part, or if Williams was hired as a recurring cast member and then later bumped up to contract status.

Details on Williams' new "One Life" character are unknown at this time, as if her first airdate.  You can learn more about Nafessa Williams, who is a twenty-five year old Philadelphia native, here. You can also watch her 2010 audition for "Friends with Benefits" here.

Kristen Alderson Finds It's 'Hard to Give'

(SoapOperaNetwork) — Just in case you haven't already heard enough about "One Life to Live's" new Valentine's Day album "The Sound of a Kiss," which features soap stars belting out tunes about love and heartache, here's a little preview of one of the album's songs, "Hard to Give," performed by Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning).

In the show's endless attempt to promote the new album, "OLTL" Supervising Music Producer Paul Glass revealed the lyrics for Alderson's song, which is the first track on the compilation, on Twitter. Below you can read a snippet of the beginning portions, but for the full lyrics click here.

          HARD TO GIVE

          nobody left here babe
          close the place down
as you walk out alone in your defense
          keep you from crying out

          when you hit the ground
i don't know what to say
          what's left to blame

          is it hard to give
          is it hard to take
when you won't let anyone in
and the worst of it all
          is how hard you fall
as you hide beneath your skin

Others featured on the album include Kassie DePaiva (Blair), Kelley Missal (Dani), Brittany Underwood (Langston), and David A. Gregory (Ford).

"The Sound of a Kiss" is available for $5.99 on iTunes.

Brittany Underwood Tapes Final Scenes at 'One Life'

(SoapOperaNetwork) — With her time in Llanview coming to an end, Brittany Underwood (Langston) spends her final days at the “OLTL” studios.

Underwood, who was fired last month after nearly five years on the job, tells her fans via TwitterSo my last day is this Wednesday [February 9] for those of you who were asking, but I’m also there Tuesday [February 8], I’ll try and be outside around lunchtime both days [to meet with fans].”

Langston makes her (apparently) less than dramatic exit from Llanivew on Friday, April 8, when the aspiring writer is offered a movie deal.  But reassured soap fans, it won’t be the last we’ll see of the actress.  Underwood assures fans she’ll still be at the this year’s ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fund-raising event on Sunday, March 13, tweeting that “I’ll be at Broadway Cares this year :) Don’t think y’all r gettin rid of me that easy!! Lol.”
