Hallmark Channel has renewed “Home & Family,” hosted by Mark Steines and Debbie Matenopoulos, for a sixth season, the network announced during TCAs.
The View
All Things About
ABC’s “The View” continues its season-long hot streak, outperforming CBS’ competing “The Talk” in all key sales demographics, including Total Viewers.
In a season that finds ABC’s “The View” as the only broadcast program growing in total viewers over its year-ago performance, the daytime talk show continues to overpower CBS’ competing “The Talk” in all key categories.
ABC has renewed “The View” for an epic 20th season, and Candi Carter has officially been named executive producer of the daytime talker, effective immediately.
After starting out the 2015-16 television season dead last in Women 18-49 rating and nearly at the bottom in Women 25-54, the key sales demos that determine advertising rates for daytime programming, ABC’s “The View” has been turning things around of late with solid gains against competing “The Talk” in both Total Viewers and Women 18-49. The talk show remains behind the CBS gabfest in Women 25-54, however.
After struggling in the fall, ABC’s “The View” appears to be turning things around. The daytime talk show, along with network counterpart “The Chew,” attracted their largest audiences in a year, according to newly released Nielsen Media Research ratings data for the week of January 18-22, 2016.
After a tumultuous fall season, ABC’s “The View” seems to be turning things around. The daytime talk show beat competing “The Talk” during the week of January 4-8, 2016 in Women 18-49 with its widest margin of the season. “The Talk,” however, beat the “The View” in both Total Viewers” and Women 25-54.
CBS’ “The Talk,” “Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right” all delivered strong viewership returns during fourth quarter 2015, according to recently released Nielsen Media Research ratings data.
After reporting how daytime stacks up when looking at the Adults 18-49 demo as used by primetime advertisers, one has to wonder what daytime looks like in the actual key sales demo of Women 18-49 when it comes to the season-to-date rankings. What’s surprising is how poorly “The View” does overall, and how well “General Hospital” is actually doing when factoring in the Live+7* numbers vs. the traditionally reported Live+SD** numbers seen here on Soap Opera Network each week.
As we prepare to publish another week’s worth of ratings covering the daytime soaps “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Days of our Lives,” “General Hospital” and “The Young and the Restless,” we felt it was worth noting the difference between daytime and primetime when it comes to demographics as part of a year-end report.
