‘The View’ Continues Ratings Hot Streak

ABC's "The View" continues its season-long hot streak, outperforming CBS' competing "The Talk" in all key sales demographics, including Total Viewers.

As it’s done on many occasions throughout the 2016-17 television season, ABC’s “The View” has again outrated CBS’ competing “The Talk” in all key target demos, according to newly released Nielsen Media Research ratings data.

For the week of July 17-21, 2017, “The View” averaged 2.590 million viewers, 403,000 Women 25-54 and 295,000 Women 18-49, based on Live + Same Day. The View” beat CBS’ “The Talk” (2.429 million, 398,000 and 267,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+161,000), Women 25-54 (+5,000) and Women 18-49 (+28,000).

“The View” continues outperforming its year-ago performance by solid margins. The daily chat fest is celebrating its most watched season in 3 years (since the 2013-14 television season). The show is the only daytime program up season-to-season on the broadcast networks.

The ABC daytime talk show is leading “The Talk” in Total Viewers (+179,000 – 2.819 million vs. 2.640 million), Women 25-54 (+56,000 – 523,000 vs. 467,000) and Women 18-49 (+53,000 – 376,000 vs. 323,000), delivering its largest Women 25-54 advantage in 4 years – since the 2012-13 season.
