Dominic Zamprogna, Emme Rylan, General Hospital

ABC’s “General Hospital” will celebrate romance in style on Valentine’s Day as viewers will be treated to the reconciliation of Dante and Lulu Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna and Emme Rylan), the potential hookup of Felix and Lucas (Marc Anthony Samuel and Ryan Carnes), an adventure for Nikolas and Britt (Tyler Christopher and Kelly Thiebaud), a turning point in Molly’s relationship with TJ (Haley Pullos and Tequan Richmond) and Ava and Morgan (Maura West and Bryan Craig) spend a secret night of passion together. Of course, what would a night of romance be without the possibility of a paternity test reveal? Liz (Rebecca Herbst) is on a mission to take down Britt!

If you tuned into today’s episode of ABC’s “General Hospital” you saw two huge reveals for the character of Brad Cooper, portrayed by actor Parry Shen. In one, it was revealed that Brad and Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) slept together after drowning their sorrows at the Floating Rib bar. In the other, it was revealed that Brad’s real father is Kim Wu from the 1980’s Asian Quarter storyline, which is famously remembered in flashbacks when a young Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) runs to the awaiting arms of her mother Anna Devanne (Finola Hughes). In fact, the scenes were recently aired when Robin once again reunited with her mother last year. In light of all the action and the drama, Soap Opera Network spoke with Shen about the huge storyline twists and turns that the soap was able to keep secret right up to the conclusion of today’s episode.

There have been a slew of stories celebrating soap operas’ recent turnaround in the ratings game as of late, but it’s an unexpected trend worth repeating: Soaps are back, baby! And “General Hospital,” which was marching toward an ABC death similar to “All My Children” and “One Life to Live,” is doing particularly well. Soap Opera Network sat down with the sudser’s very own William DeVry (Julian Jerome), who discussed some particulars of why “GH” is on such an upswing. And while he was at it, he revealed some details on what’s to come in Julian’s life, as well!

As a result of the Friday, December 20 preemption, ABC’s “General Hospital’s” is currently behind in its airing schedule. What that means is that the previously scheduled “Home for the Holidays” themed episode set to air today, will instead air on Friday, December 27. Also shifted is the debut of “GH” newcomer Ryan Paevey in the contract role of Nathan West. The character, who was originally set to debut on tomorrow’s episode, will instead debut on the Monday, December 30 episode in scenes alongside Kirsten Storms’ Maxie Jones, who seeks to get out of town just as Port Charles gets ready to celebrate the New Year as a result of the recent baby drama and the need to clear her head. In real-life, Storms is headed for maternity leave as she’s due to give birth in January to a little girl by husband and former “GH” co-star, Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara).

Ryan Carnes will take over the role as Lucas Jones on “General Hospital” this summer, reports TV Guide Online. Lucas is the son of Bobbie Jones (Jacklyn Zeman). The daytime newcomer replaces actor C.J. Thomason, the most recent Lucas from 2002-2003. This move is a part of a usually growing summer teen storyline. No word yet on whether the role is contract, though it is likely to be recurring.
