2015 Artios Awards — ‘GH’s’ Mark Teschner Wins for Daytime Drama Series

The Casting Society of America (CSA) hosted the 30th Annual Artios Awards last night in ceremonies taking place simultaneously in New York and Los Angeles. "General Hospital's" Mark Teschner took home the casting award for Daytime Drama Series. He beat out "Days of our Lives" casting director Marnie Saitta, and associate Bob Lambert, and "The Young and the Restless" casting director Judy Blye Wilson, and associate Greg Salmon.

Marie Wilson Joins ‘Days of our Lives’

Soap Opera Network can finally report that former "As The World Turns" and "Port Charles" actress Marie Wilson has joined the cast of NBC's "Days of our Lives" in the recurring role of Bree. The actress will share scenes with former "ATWT" co-star Daniel Cosgrove (ex-Chris Hughes), who now appears as Aiden Jennings on "DAYS," and Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady). Bree is an old acquaintance of Hope’s who turns out to be someone from Aiden's dark past.

Disney Executive: ‘SOAPnet Had A Great Run’; Future of ‘DAYS’ On Cable Uncertain

On Friday, November 8, Soap Opera Network reported that SOAPnet, now the old way to watch soaps, would cease operation on December 31, 2013 at 11:59:59 ET. Barbara Esensten Passes

On Wednesday, November 14, 2012, the world of soaps lost a true legend in Barbara Esensten, who passed at age 75. Esensten co-created "The City" along with her more than 20 year long writing partner James Harmon Brown.
