After teasing “huge news” on his Twitter page last week, “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini revealed just a short time ago that actor Michael Easton (ex-Silas Clay; ex-John McBain) is returning to the daytime drama series in the weeks ahead.

The announcement came via a short video that was shared on Valentini’s Vimeo page which shows the producer “casually” running into the actor at the grocery store in the cereal aisle.

In their brief conversation, Valentini asked the actor if he’s interested in returning to the soap as Valentini has something good planned for him story wise. “See ya in a couple weeks!” replied Easton before a “shopper” asked him where an item was located at the supermarket, virtually implying he had been working at the store since departing the soap last year with the death of his character, Silas Clay.

There’s no word yet as to whether Silas is coming back to life, or if in some way the actor will again reprise his role as John McBain, a character that first hit the airwaves via ABC’s version of “One Life to Live.” There’s also a chance that Easton will be playing a brand new character.

UPDATE: Nathan Varni, manager, current series, ABC Entertainment, revealed on his Facebook page that Easton will be playing a brand new character. “Easton returns soon to ‪#‎gh‬ in an exciting new role, more details to come later this month!” wrote the executive.

You can watch the announcement in full below.
