Casting changes for “One Life to Live” for the month of November.
On Saturday, October 1, the National Board of Directors of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) met for the final time in 2011, as previously reported. One of the topics of discussion was Prospect Park and its transitioning of “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” to the web in January 2012. While exact details of the meeting are still unknown in that respect, a representative speaks to Soap Opera Network exclusively on where things stand at this time between the actors union and Prospect Park.
“One Life to Live” isn’t even finished filming its last ABC episodes yet and already the soap has signed deals with “OLTL” head writer Ron Carlivati and several of the soaps cast members. By comparison, Prospect Park has signed far fewer deals with cast members from “All My Children,” which ended its television run on Friday, September 23.
Even though viewers have yet to learn the identity of Kim’s (Amanda Setton) comatose friend, look for her doctor to make his first appearance at the Kentucky hospital next month as her conditions takes a sudden change. And it is a face that some soap fans may remember.
John Loprieno brings Cord Roberts back to Llanview just as the Buchanan clan needs him most. But just how accepting will he be of his new kinfolk?
Back in June at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, “One Life to Live” executive producer Frank Valentini alluded to Soap Opera Network that we hadn’t seen the last of Farah Fath despite her character, Gigi Morasco, being killed off. In our Twitter posting that night, we stated “according to Frank Valentini, more surprises in store for #OLTL. Have we seen the last of Gigi? Don’t believe what you see!” Come August, that’s never been more certain!
“One Life to Live” fans hoping to catch another glimpse of some of their favorite recurring characters before the show wraps production on its TV run in November, can now breath a collective sigh of relief. In the coming weeks, several of Llanview’s “seen, but not heard” characters will be appearing in upcoming episodes.
Llanview loses a Todd, Dorian moves on to a higher calling, Kelly makes her next move, and other casting changes for the month of August.
It appears that not even death can keep Gigi Morasco (Farah Fath) away from Llanview and her beloved Rex (John-Paul Lavoisier). Fath revealed recently that, even after her character’s demise, “I can’t say that I’m 100% done with the show.” True to her word, the actress brings Gigi back to “Life” in the coming weeks when Rex needs her the most. But is it really her spirit that is seeing, or simply a product of his grieving, overactive imagination?
“One Life to Live” goes behind-the-scenes to ask some of Llanview’s leading residents their thoughts on one of the town’s most infamous characters — Todd Manning, only to learn that “he’s a bit misunderstood.” But will they spill on just who is really playing Todd — Trevor St. John or Roger Howarth? You’ll have to watch to find out!
