On the Wednesday, September 30, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” both Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) had suspicions about Vanessa’s attacker, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) made a pest of herself, and Dani (Karla Mosley) learned just how far Hayley was willing to go.
Dreams And Nightmares
Leslie presented Hayley (Marquita Goings) with a purse full of hotel mints she had snagged, deciding she would teach Hayley how to be a friend. Hayley didn’t want companionship, but Leslie admitted that she needed it and proceeded to gab about her relationship with Marcel and Lionel Belleclaire’s flirtation. Hayley wasn’t interested in Leslie’s offer to get her back into the country club at Fairmont Crest, but Leslie persisted.
Hayley sniffed that she didn’t plan on being holed up in a hotel for long. Leslie sighed that she hadn’t planned on being dumped by her “Teddy-Weddy” and having to move to another town until she could plot her comeback and introduce Ted to his daughter. Hayley expressed honest gratitude for Leslie’s financial assistance but noted that her subsequent overtures were too much. Leslie swore she was loyal to people who were loyal to her, and as she ordered champagne from room service, Hayley screamed into her pillow.
Burn Rubber
Andre (Sean Freeman) let Nicole know that her best friend Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) was in the ER after having been injured in a carjacking. Ashley (Jen Jacob) arrived with the news that Vanessa had only been bruised, and the shaken realtor was wheeled to the nurses’ station, since her condition wasn’t life-threatening. Nicole was outraged that Vanessa had been attacked, aware that Joey’s men were supposed to be watching out for her.
Vanessa further worried Nicole when she said she had told Andre, who had found her, not to call the police. Hearing that Vanessa’s attendant had been distracted by a fire that had suddenly broken out in the alley nearest her car, Nicole deduced that one of Joey’s enemies had used Vanessa to send him a message. Vanessa couldn’t understand why Nicole kept blaming Joey, who rushed to Garland as soon as he heard from Vanessa.
Joey confirmed Nicole’s intuition that Vanessa had been targeted and promised that the responsible party would pay. After Joey brought Vanessa to his place, she realized he knew who had ambushed her but couldn’t get him to name names. While Vanessa was taking a bath, Joey ordered a henchman to bring Heather to him.
Meanwhile, Nicole told Ashley about her psychological profile of The Impaler and her opinion that the crime lord was a malignant narcissist. As she thought about it, it dawned on Nicole that she knew someone else who shared that trait.
Black Rage
Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) was beside herself as Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) revealed that he wasn’t pressing charges against Hayley. Dani, wanting to save heavy subjects until Bill felt better, ushered Chelsea out of the room and got an earful, with Chelsea accusing Dani of letting Bill walk all over her as she had done during their marriage. Chelsea stalked off, and Andre came to report the attack against Vanessa. Andre stiffened when learning that Dani had to continue an important discussion with Bill.
Ted (Keith D. Robinson) visited Bill, and the men had to laugh over their ability to pick women. After Ted assured Bill that his headaches were a side effect of the antidote he was receiving to counteract Hayley’s toxin, he saw Andre and wondered how he was doing, given that Dani was tending to Bill’s latest emergency. Andre said he was sick of being asked that question, and Ted could tell that Andre was sitting on building anger, suggesting that Andre have a talk with Dani before he boiled over.
Street Stains
Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) brought Jacob (Jibre Hordges) a treat to brighten his shift at the station, saying she wasn’t at all stressed, even as Jacob noted that Naomi had tossed and turned all night. Finally, Naomi admitted that she felt bad for bringing “bite-sized bitch” Hayley into their lives, but Jacob was certain that Hayley would have found a way in anyway had Naomi not provided it. Naomi felt better when Jacob reminded her that Hayley was caught with the very poison found in Bill’s system, all but assuring a conviction.
Chelsea entered the precinct and shocked Jacob and Naomi by relaying Bill’s decision to drop the attempted murder charges against Hayley. Therefore, Chelsea asserted, she wanted Jacob to file her own charges, as Hayley had assaulted her in front of multiple witnesses. After Chelsea acknowledged that she had started the altercation by throwing water in Hayley’s face, both Naomi and Jacob warned Chelsea that Hayley could have her arrested as well. Naomi tried to quell Chelsea’s frustration by maintaining that Hayley would be brought to justice some other way.
Got Your Money
Dani returned to Bill’s room, barely containing herself as she demanded to know why he was giving Hayley a free pass after everything she had done. Once Bill explained how Hayley was threatening to use the murder Martin had inadvertently committed while protecting Vernon from the hate crime to destroy the Duprees if Bill didn’t give her what she wanted, Dani exclaimed, “Are you freaking kidding me?” Dani had to allow that Hayley wasn’t as dumb as she’d thought she was.
Bill begged Dani not to confront Hayley; they couldn’t do anything to piss her off if they wanted to keep her under control. Dani was horrified when Bill said he’d been willing to give Hayley the $1 million guaranteed her in their prenup and the St. Bart’s house in exchange for Hayley’s silence – though Dani smiled that it had to “chap [Bill’s] ass” to part with so much money. When Bill added that he’d liquidate all his assets to protect the family, Dani decided he sounded like Vernon. Bill said frankly that he was just glad to have Hayley out of his life.
