On the Tuesday, September 29, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Anita (Tamara Tunie) made the rounds, Andre (Sean Freeman) went to Vernon (Clifton Davis) for help, and Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) poked the bear.
Get At Me Dog
Dani (Karla Mosley) came to see Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and collapsed into sobs, realizing how close they had come to losing Bill. Nicole could see that Dani was processing a lot and advised her to walk the other way if she saw Hayley. When Nicole asked how Andre was handling things, Dani called him “divine” but noted that he seemed to be internalizing a lot. Nicole insisted that Dani come clean when Dani mentioned that she hadn’t told Andre about Hayley holding a gun on her.
Hayley (Marquita Goings) sauntered into Orphey Gene’s and was about to tell Randy (Maurice P. Kerry) about the deal she had cut with Bill when Chelsea stormed in and threw a glass of water in her face. Hayley responded by smacking Chelsea hard, and it took both Randy and June (Jasmine Burke) to keep the women from progressing to a full-on brawl. Randy snatched Hayley’s purse so she would have to follow him out, and Chelsea told June the story of Bill’s poisoning. June was certain “the good Lord” would punish Hayley, but Chelsea said that sometimes he needed a little help.
And I’m Like, “Forget You”
Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) met Heather (Ashley Jones) at Uptown after Heather had declared an emergency – but she just wanted Vanessa to re-up her guest pass at the country club. Heather quietly smelled a rat when Vanessa started coming up with reasons not to hang out with her. Lying that she had an imminent showing, Vanessa went to Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and said he’d be proud that she’d wriggled out of making plans with his sister, as he would have wanted.
Joey commented that Vanessa’s dream of them all getting along was futile – he didn’t trust Heather and didn’t foresee being able to. Vanessa then received a call from Heather, who wanted to get together the next day. Heather became aggressive when Vanessa kept begging off, which Vanessa later told Joey didn’t seem like Heather. “It is,” Joey reiterated, adding that ever since they’d been kids, Heather had turned dark when she didn’t get what she wanted.
Bad Bad News
Andre approached Vernon, who hoped that Andre and Dani had had a chance to relax together after the madness of Hayley poisoning Bill. Furthermore, Vernon felt that Dani and Andre were due for a heart-to-heart conversation, which Andre deferred because of everything Dani was dealing with. Instead, Andre asked Vernon how well he knew Joey. The surprised former senator learned that Joey and Andre had a mutual acquaintance, and admitted that Joey kept his promises – for a steep price.
Alone in his back room, Joey watched the video Andre had captured on his phone: Heather speaking to a sobbing man, begging her for mercy, cooing over what a nice throat he had… and how regretful he was to have used his voice to betray her. The man grunted as he was silenced, and Heather ordered someone to “clean up this mess.” Vernon arrived and questioned why Andre had asked him whether Joey could be trusted.
Joey would only say that the person both he and Andre knew was in the restaurant business, but Vernon promised to deal with Joey if any harm came to Andre, which would devastate his daughter. Meanwhile, Andre ran into Nicole at the hospital and informed her that Vanessa was on her way in…she had just been carjacked.
Right My Wrongs
Anita checked on Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) at the hospital and was glad he was on the mend. She was furious to learn that Leslie had paid Hayley’s bail, and Bill was certain that Anita was there to lecture him. Anita conceded that she was angry, but on his behalf. When she added that all the heartache could have been avoided had Bill listened to everyone’s warnings, Bill agreed, saying he was more incensed with himself than anyone else could be.
Anita replied that Bill was in a good space to analyze his choices and beseeched him to let Dani live her life with Andre, asking him not to blow up the family again. Bill promised Anita he would make things up to the entire Dupree clan, then, alone, took off his wedding ring. Later, Chelsea and Dani visited Bill, who was outraged that Hayley had slapped his daughter. Both Dani and Chelsea were struck dumb when Bill explained that he was having the charges against Hayley dropped.
What About Your Friends
Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) was at the country club when Lionel Belleclaire (Andre L. Hall) got her attention. He reminded her that they had discussed the fate of her house and wanted to continue the conversation over dinner. Despite her attraction and Lionel being Anastasia’s ex-husband, Leslie declined, saying she was “considering monogamy” with someone. However, Anastasia (Timeca Seretti) saw Leslie with Lionel and immediately laid into her.
Once Lionel left for his tee time, Leslie informed “Anasta-nausea” that Lionel had initiated the flirtation, asking Anastasia if Lionel wasn’t “seven, eight husbands ago.” As Anastasia fumed that she wouldn’t let Leslie taint Lionel because he was the father of her children, Anita ran interference so effectively that Anastasia left in a huff. Leslie was touched that Anita had stood up for her, but Anita expressed her disappointment that Leslie had paid Hayley’s bail just as it seemed there was a glimpse of a human being inside her.
Just Negotiate
Randy escorted Hayley to her hotel room, wanting her to continue telling him how she had gotten out of things with Bill. Hayley gloated that she had something on Bill – not that she was going to tell Randy what it was – and therefore would be away with the $1 million assured in their prenup, plus the house Bill had bought for her in St. Bart’s. Randy insisted on half, intent on providing for his son, whom he couldn’t see because of his association with Joey. Randy wanted out of Joey’s organization.
Hayley scoffed that Randy wasn’t getting half, since he hadn’t done half the work. The cousins bickered over a suitable amount, with Randy grudgingly accepting 25% of Hayley’s haul. After Randy left, Leslie knocked on Hayley’s hotel room door, and Hayley assumed she was there to get her bail money back. Leslie didn’t appreciate Hayley’s tone and let her know how much flak she was already taking for helping Hayley out of jail. Hayley was aghast when Leslie announced that her assistance had made them friends forever.
