On the Tuesday, September 22, 2026, episode of “Beyond the Gates,” Madison (Kenjah) turned out to be a bad liar, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) told Jacob (Jibre Hordges) what made The Impaler tick, and Dani (Karla Mosley) succeeded in her mission…almost.
Keep Your Eye On The Sparrow
At the police station, Jacob welcomed Nicole, who assumed the detective wanted more psychological insight into The Impaler after the profile she’d put together on the crime lord. Nicole’s take was that The Impaler was meticulous, well-educated, and relied on mystery. Furthermore, Nicole opined that the thug was a malignant narcissist who might lose control if challenged or threatened. Jacob was glad to have his own instincts verified by a professional.
Nicole let Jacob know that she wasn’t willing to offer any more input on his case and expressed her concern about the “personal dynamics” that had developed after Jacob interrogated a family member, with his own wife serving as Smitty’s counsel. Jacob credited Smitty with bringing the blood plasma ring case to him and assured Nicole that he was only trying to get at the truth so he could put The Impaler behind bars.
She Don’t Have To Know
Madison frowned at Bill’s chart, not understanding what she was missing. Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) sheepishly admitted that he had also passed out on “one or two” other occasions, so Madison ordered an EKG to accompany Bill’s CAT scan and decided to monitor Bill’s brain activity overnight. Just then, Hayley (Marquita Goings) called to check in on Bill, who lied that he’d had to take an emergency business trip to Richmond.
Hayley, who was still with Caroline (Ellie Wang) at the country club, was hesitant to go home to an empty house when Caroline couldn’t stay longer. Suddenly Caroline received a text from Bill, asking her to come to his hospital room right away. She did so, surprised that only she and Dani knew that he had been admitted. Bill worried that Hayley would see him as weak for having so many health issues, but Caroline gushed that he was a strong man and promised to cover with Hayley in his “absence.”
Talking In His Sleep
Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) called Madison to ask when she would be done with her latest research session. Madison uncomfortably fibbed that she couldn’t get away and abruptly ended the call, leading Chelsea to show up at Garland Memorial with dinner for her fiancée. After the soon-to-be-marrieds shared their meal, Madison downplayed Chelsea’s declarations that something had to be up, but she could deflect no longer when Chelsea saw Caroline heading toward the elevator and assumed she was there because of Bill.
Madison apologized for the cloak-and-dagger, but explained that Bill had left explicit instructions that no one was to know he was laid up. She explained that Bill was fine but needed tests, and asked Chelsea to respect Bill’s desire for privacy. However, as soon as Madison was called away, Chelsea went on a hunt and found Bill’s room, surprising her father with her appearance. Bill grumbled that Dani must have betrayed his confidence, and Chelsea was amazed that Dani knew Bill was in the hospital.
I Got Plans
Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) came running when Dani called her frantically. Dani swore Naomi to secrecy and explained how Bill had passed out and needed to be hospitalized – again. When Dani announced that Hayley had to be poisoning him, Naomi said she sounded like Kat with her love for crime podcasts. But as Dani told Naomi about Bill’s life insurance policy and shared that Hayley had infiltrated their family, who knew nothing about Hayley’s life before coming to D.C., Naomi had to admit that she knew Hayley had faked her ultrasound.
Shocked, Dani exclaimed that the lie proved Hayley would do anything, including poisoning her husband. “I’m comin’ for that ratchet bitch,” Dani fumed, noting that Bill also seemed to do better in the hospital but returned to feeling crummy once he went home to Hayley. Naomi thought back to how Hayley had suddenly knocked a cup of tea out of her hand on one occasion and prevented her from eating a cupcake on another. Dani was concerned when Naomi added that she had consumed part of a sandwich Hayley had been very nervous about.
Dani wanted Jacob to issue a search warrant, but lawyer Naomi said there were no grounds for one. Deciding to conduct her own search, Dani asked Naomi for the passcode to Bill’s house. Naomi haltingly consented – on the condition that Dani give Naomi her gun. Dani was willing but said she needed Naomi to keep Hayley busy long enough for her to find the toxin and the documents she’d be looking for. Naomi cringed as she texted Hayley, begging for a meeting; Hayley huffed at the notifications but finally, if grudgingly, told Naomi she was at the club.
I Spy (For The FBI)
Seeing Naomi, Hayley snarked that what her former bestie had to say had better be good, or she was leaving. Naomi pretended to be sorry for telling Bill about Hayley’s phony natal scan, also referencing the suspicion she and Chelsea had had about Hayley, and offering to put everything behind them. Hayley was dubious at first but soon wistfully wondered what things would have been like if she and Naomi were still friends and Naomi was working full-time with Bill at the office.
Naomi kept trying to find reasons for Hayley to stay despite her intention to go home. Meanwhile, Dani entered the Hamiltons’ residence, taking samples of candy and alcohol that might be poisoned, and then discovered a wall safe hidden behind a painting. Accurately predicting that Bill would have the same entry code he’d always used, Dani got into the safe and procured Hayley and Bill’s prenup (which contained a cheating clause), the $10 life insurance policy, and the deed to the Hamiltons’ house in St. Bart’s, which Bill had put in Hayley’s name.
Unable to stop Hayley from leaving, Naomi sent urgent texts to Dani, who didn’t see them. Naomi followed by calling Jacob in a panic, asking him to meet her at Bill’s house right away. Dani had trouble getting the hinged painting covering the safe to pop back into place and tried to hide when she heard Hayley coming through the front door. However, Dani’s purse and phone were still sitting out, and Hayley saw Dani in the open, demanding to know what the hell she was doing there.
