Need To Know

  • “The View” and “GMA3” were either excluded or retitled during the two-week carriage dispute between Disney/YouTube TV, resulting in neither show’s performance being reported by Nielsen in some or all key ratings categories.
  • “General Hospital” initially set new series lows among Women 18-49 (0.10 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.14 rating) during the week of September 29-October 3, 2025, though this was due to preemptions resulting from ABC’s coverage of Major League Baseball Wild Card Series games which also saw repeats of the soap opera aired in some markets that were factored into the show’s weekly average.
  • “The Young and the Restless” sets new season highs among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.42 rating).

During the week of November 3-7, 2025, which marked the first full week of the since-concluded two-week Disney/YouTube TV carriage dispute, ABC’s news programming, particularly “The View” and “GMA3,” was either excluded entirely or retitled, with both shows seeing their ratings results factored out of their weekly and season averages. The same could not be said for “General Hospital,” which officially set a new low in both demos, excluding the Wild Card Series preemptions in October that factored in repeats which aired in some markets.

For the week, “General Hospital” tied for last place among Women 18-49 (0.14 rating), while just slightly ahead of last place “NBC News Daily” among Women 25-54 (0.21 rating vs. 0.19). The long-running soap opera averaged 1.789 million viewers, its lowest Total Viewers performance since the week of April 28-May 2, 2025.

Compared to one week earlier, the ABC drama was down a mere -46,000 viewers (1.789 million vs. 1.835 million), down -0.02 among Women 18-49 (0.14 rating vs. 0.16 rating) and down -0.04 among Women 25-54 (0.25 rating vs. 0.21 rating). Meanwhile, time slot competitor “Beyond the Gates” averaged 1.531 million viewers, -258,000 fewer than its ABC rival, but placed ahead in Women 18-49 (0.16 rating vs. 0.14 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.25 rating vs. 0.21 rating).

“Beyond the Gates” was up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.16 rating vs. 0.14 rating) and up +0.01 among Women 25-54 (0.25 rating vs. 0.24 rating). The CBS drama was also an uptick of +8,000 viewers (1.531 million vs. 1.523 million). Compared to the year ago performance of former time slot holder “The Talk,” “Beyond the Gates” was virtually on par or flat in both demos, while up +238,000 viewers.

“The Young and the Restless” and both half hours of “Let’s Make a Deal” saw the largest week-to-week increases among both key demos, though only the first half hour of the Wayne Brady-hosted game show saw gains among Total Viewers, up +10,000 (2.153 million vs. 2.143 million). The long-running soap opera saw its best performance among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating) since the week of August 18-22, 2025, marking a season high. The same could also be said about Women 25-54 (0.42 rating), with the show’s best performance in the demo since the week of August 11-15, 2025.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” fell to fifth place among Total Viewers, behind the second half hour of “Let’s Make a Deal,” with the former averaging 2.466 million viewers vs. 2.488 million for the latter. Both shows saw week-to-week drops among viewers, but were up among both demos. The half-hour soap and the second half-hour of the game show were up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (tie, 0.22 rating), while the first half-hour of the game show was up a significant +0.05 (0.22 rating vs. 0.17 rating).

Among Women 25-54, the second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” topped “The Bold and the Beautiful” (0.37 rating vs. 0.35 rating), with the game show up +0.04 week-to-week while the soap opera was up a mere +0.01. The first half-hour of the game showed an impressive +0.07 week-to-week gain among Women 25-54 (0.35 rating vs. 0.28 rating).

“NBC News” daily continues to see a marked improvement among Total Viewers after just seven weeks into the 2025-2026 television season, though down from its week ago season high. The news program averaged 1.330 million viewers, down -102,000 week to week but up an impressive +108,000 compared to the same week last year (1.330 million vs. 1.222 million).
