Although only three original episodes aired during the week of March 17-21, 2025, due to CBS’ annual coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 20 and Friday, March 21, the network’s scripted lineup consisting of “The Young and the Restless,” “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Beyond the Gates” were up week-to-week and compared to the same week last year among Women 18-49, Women 25-54, and for the most part, Households and Total Viewers.
For the week, “The Young and the Restless” (3.058 million) grew +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.31 rating vs. 0.29 rating) and +0.04 among Women 25-54 (0.52 rating vs. 0.48 rating).
Compared to the same week last year, daytime’s most watched and highest rated drama series was up +0.05 among Women 18-49 (0.31 rating vs. 0.26 rating) and up +0.09 among Women 25-54 (0.52 rating vs. 0.43 rating), with the show tying for its second best performance of the season in both demographics.
“The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.601 million) also saw big gains compared to its week ago perforamnce, up an even better +0.03 among Women 18-49 (0.28 rating vs. 0.25 rating) and +0.08 among Women 25-54 (0.47 rating vs. 0.39 rating) with the soap tying for its second best performance of the season among Women 18-49 (0.28 rating), and tying its best performance of the season among Women 25-54 (0.47 rating). The soap was also up year-to-year, gaining +0.06 among Women 18-49 (0.28 rating vs. 0.22 rating) and up +0.09 among Women 25-54 (0.47 rating vs. 0.38 rating).
Keeping the momentum going, in its fourth week on the air, “Beyond the Gates” (1.685 million) was up +0.02 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating vs. 0.20 rating) and +0.03 among Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs 0.33 rating), and continues to top time slot competitor “General Hospital” (1.925 million) in both demographics.
The new show’s viewership advantage over year ago time slot holder “The Talk” (1.230 million) was up +455,000, and its demo gains were +0.06 among Women 18-49 (0.22 rating vs. 0.16 rating) and +0.10 among Women 25-54 (0.36 rating vs. 0.26 rating).
“General Hospital” was up week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.21 rating vs. 0.20 rating), but was flat among Women 25-54 (0.31 rating). Compared to the same week last year, the series was up +0.01 (0.21 rating vs. 0.20 rating) but was down -0.06 among Women 25-54 (0.31 rating vs. 0.37 rating).
The second half hours of both “The Price is Right” (4.190 million) and “Let’s Make Deal” (2.274 million) saw week-to-week and year-to-year declines among both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, with the former being impacted by reruns on Thursday, March 20 and Friday, March 21, which were factored into the show’s weekly average.
“GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.364 million) and “NBC News Daily” (1.083 million) hit or tied their season low among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, with both shows continuing to remain at the bottom in the key demos, with a rapidly declining “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” (1.229 million) joining them among Households and Total Viewers.
“TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” was up or flat week-to-week and year-to-year among Women 18-49 and Women 25-54, proving the show is more of a demo hit than a viewership one.
