DAYTIME EMMYS: ‘General Hospital’ Leads the Pack with 19 Nominations, Including Drama Series

Nominations for "The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards" are out; "General Hospital" leads with 19 nominations, followed by "The Bold and the Beautiful" with 14.

Nominations for “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” were just announced with “General Hospital” leading the pack, receiving 19 nominations overall, two more than last year.

The Bold and the Beautiful” received the second largest number of nominations with 14, followed by “The Young and the Restless” with 13 and “Days of our Lives” with 11 nominations. “The Kelly Clarkson Show” was the only other daytime series in the double digits, also receiving 11 nominations. “The Bay” and “Days of our Lives” spinoff, “Beyond Salem: Chapter Two,” received three nominations.

“Today we not only honor this year’s outstanding programs and individuals, we mark a milestone in television history. Our golden anniversary celebrates the talented creators who have made the last 50 years of Daytime Television so unforgettable,” said Adam Sharp, President & CEO of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the organization behind the Daytime Emmy Awards. “Partnering with CBS for another two years, we look forward to a very special 50th Daytime Emmy Awards this June.”

“In addition to this year’s many esteemed nominees, it is especially gratifying to also be celebrating so many milestones of Daytime television in our 50th anniversary year,” said Brent Stanton, Head of Daytime, NATAS. “Not only are we celebrating 50 years of Daytime Emmy Award programming, we are also celebrating the milestones of some of its longest-running shows such as ‘General Hospital,’ ‘The Young and the Restless,’ ‘Dr. Phil’ and ‘Rachael Ray.’”

Nominations in five categories were announced last night during a special preview shared across “Access Hollywood,” “Entertainment Tonight,” “Extra” and “E! News,” including Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor, Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress, Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host and Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.

Taking place at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, “The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” is set to air LIVE on Friday, June 16 at 9:00 p.m. ET/delayed PT. The telecast will also be available to stream live and On Demand on Paramount+*. Additional winners will be announced during “The Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys,” which will occur the following night, Saturday, June 17, at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT, airing exclusively online via Watch.TheEmmys.TV and related apps.

*Paramount+ Premium subscribers will have access to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service and On Demand. Essential-tier subscribers will have access to On Demand the day after the special airs.
