If you’ve been tuning in to “General Hospital” this week you might have noticed a different face playing the role of Michael Corinthos on the ABC drama series. As noted by the voice announcer, “The Young and the Restless” and “Hollywood Heights” alum Robert Adamson stepped in for Chad Duell beginning with the Wednesday, June 1 episode and now we know why the temporary replacement was needed.
In a tweet, Duell revealed that he will be back taping beginning next week and that Adamson stepped in due to COVID-related reasons. “I’m good.. I’ll be back filming next week. Was covid related,” said Duell regarding his on-screen absence. Noting Adamson’s performance, Duell commented, “Robert did great” and included clapping hands emojis.
From 2012-2020, Adamson portrayed Noah Newman on “The Young and the Restless.” Shortly before joining the daytime drama series, he played Phil Sanders in the short-lived Nick @ Nite teen drama “Hollywood Heights.” He’s probably best known outside of soaps for his role as Charli Antoni in the drama “Lincoln Heights.” More recently, Adamson has appeared in episodes of “All Rise,” “Stumptown” and “Dave.” He’ll next appear in the movie “Tub Life” alongside former “GH” star Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon Quartermaine).
