“The Price is Right” is going on a 50-stop nationwide tour in celebration of the show’s 50th anniversary. The tour begins on Friday, March 25 with host Drew Carey making a stop at the Santa Monica Pear as he and most of the show’s talent light up the iconic Ferris wheel.
Dubbed the “Come on Down Tour,” America’s most beloved game show will travel across the country to encourage everyone to take interact with the mobile game show on wheels showcasing in a groovy 70s style bus (honoring when the show began in 1972), fun photo ops and to spin the wheel, play Plinko and participate in Showcase Showdown to win money and prizes. The tour will go coast to coast, March 25 – May 18, stopping at 50 of America’s most iconic locations and inviting fans from 8 lucky cities (LA, Denver, Dallas, New Orleans, Nashville, St. Louis, Cleveland, New York City) to play interactive games for prizes benefitting local businesses as well as a grand prize of $50,000. Along the way, the tour will be visiting uniquely American landmarks such as the Route 66 sign, Gateway Arch, and the World’s Largest Basket. The Santa Monica event will feature Carey, George Gray (the voice of “The Price Is Right” who says “Come On Down!!”), and model Alexis Gaube, on the Santa Monica Pier where the iconic Ferris wheel will be converted to a giant “The Price is Right” wheel and lit up at dusk. LA prizes for fans will include gift cards benefitting local businesses, like The Comedy Store and ride tickets for the Ferris wheel for all who win.
