CBS to Preempt ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ ‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘The Talk’ for ‘UEFA Champions League’ Coverage

"The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless" will be preempted over six nonconsecutive days in the Mountain and Pacific time zones due to CBS coverage of UEFA Champions League games. Here's everything you need to know to keep up with your favorite soaps.

With CBS airing “UEFA Champions League” games over six nonconsecutive days starting Tuesday, February 15, daytime soaps “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” will be preempted in full or air overnight on stations in the Mountain and Pacific markets, Soap Opera Network has confirmed. Neither soap is expected to be interrupted on the East coast.

“UEFA Champions League” games will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET on CBS and via streaming service Paramount+ with each showing different teams playing in the competition. A pre-game show, “UEFA Champions League Today,” will air at 2:00 p.m. ET in place of “The Talk” which will be fully preempted.

Let’s Make a Deal” and “The Price is Right” will not be impacted in markets that air the game shows as a pair in the mornings. However, “Let’s Make a Deal” will be preempted in markets where it is scheduled to air after “The Talk.”

What follows is a list of dates CBS daytime programming will be preempted or aired overnight in the Mountain and Pacific markets (check local listings).

  • Tuesday, February 15
  • Wednesday, February 16
  • Tuesday, February 22
  • Wednesday, February 23
  • Tuesday, March 8
  • Wednesday, March 9

As always, viewers living in markets impacted by the preemptions can keep up with the latest episodes which will be made available on the CBS App, CBS.com, and Paramount+.

UEFA Champions League is an annual competition organized by the Union of European Football Associations as the remaining top 16 clubs in the European tournament each vie for the Coupe des Clubs Champions Européens (aka European Cup) trophy. Clubs competing this year include Chelsea (England), Liverpool (England), Manchester United (England), Paris Saint-Germain (France), Salzburg (Austria), LOSC Lille (France), Benfica (Portugal), and Bayern München (Germany), among others.
