It would appear that almost everyone in Salem will soon be leaving town to visit friends and family when Peacock launches “Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem,” the five-part limited series spinoff of NBC’s “Days of our Lives,” and, of course, they’ll be taking all their drama with them as luggage!
With a series of casting announcements, the streaming service revealed today that “DAYS” favorites Christie Clark, Austin Peck, Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley will be joining Lisa Rinna, Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Jackée Harry, James Reynolds, Victoria Konefal, Robert Scott Wilson, Billy Flynn, Lamon Archey and Sal Stowers as they hunt for stolen gems across the globe.
The series will also include the returns of Chandler Massey as Will Horton, Greg Rikaart as Leo Stark and Eileen Davidson, whose character is being kept under wraps. She last portrayed Kristen DiMera on the soap in 2017. Also joining the cast is “The Young and the Restless” actor Zach Tinker (Fenmore Baldwin) as a recast Sonny Kiriakis.
Clark reprises her role as Carrie Brady and Peck returns as Austin Reed, a role he last played in 2019 for the DOOL App original series, “Days of our Lives: The Digital Series.” Penghlis and Hunley appear as Tony DiMera and Anna DiMera, respectively.
In “Beyond Salem,” the Salemites spend a long weekend scattered around different parts of the world: John and Marlena (Hall and Hogestyn) travel to Zurich, Ben and Ciara (Wilson and Konefal) have a romantic getaway in New Orleans, Chad (Flynn) visits some old friends in Phoenix, and Abe, Paulina, Lani, and Eli (Reynolds, Harry, Archey and Stowers) vacation in Miami. What they don’t realize is that they are all part of a mystery involving stolen jewels which, in the wrong hands, could cause dire consequences for Salem. Enter ISA agent Reed (Rinna) as she crosses the globe in search of the missing treasure.
No official word yet on when the show will premiere on Peacock, however, in response to a fan who had inquired, the @PeacockTVCare Twitter handle inadvertently revealed that the series will launch on Monday, September 6.
