For the first time since 2017, characters from “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” will appear on each other’s shows when “Y&R’s” snoopy Summer Newman (Hunter King) finds her way in Los Angeles looking to dig up dirt on rival Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) during the week of January 11 on “B&B.”

According to TV Insider, which broke the news, Summer is looking to find out all that she can on Sally, who previously resided in L.A. until her arrival in Genoa City in November. There, Summer meets Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) and Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden), among others. Later in the week, Wyatt and Flo follow Summer back to Genoa City for a storyline that will continue beyond next week as “more unexpected appearances” are planned, TV Insider reports.

In an upcoming interview with Soap Opera Digest, on newsstands Friday, “Y&R” head writer and co-executive producer, Josh Griffith, said of the crossover, “When we thought about bringing Sally to Genoa City, and we found out that she left L.A. under a cloud of trouble, it seemed like it was a natural that we would try to work out a way so we could cross the shows and cross that story, have people from our show looking into her background in trying to get dirt on her.”

The most recent “B&B”/”Y&R” crossover occurred in 2017 when Eric Forrester (John McCook) appeared in Genoa City to help out Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman).
