‘General Hospital’ Flashback Friday With the Three Faces of Carly

"General Hospital" to re-air its 51st anniversary episode featuring the faces of Carly Corinthos: Sarah Joy Brown, Laura Wright and Tamara Braun.

As part of its continued effort to showcase “Flashback” episodes each Friday in place of originals to help prolong the amount of inventory it has remaining before shutting down production last month, on Friday, May 1, “General Hospital” will re-air its 2014 anniversary episode featuring the three faces of Carly Corinthos: Sarah Joy Brown (1996-2001), Tamara Braun (2001-2005) and Laura Wright (2005-present).

In the episode, Brown and Braun make cameo appearances as Carly during scenes alongside Maurice Benard‘s Sonny as he and Carly (Wright) bond and reflect on their stormy past. In story, Sonny is trying to deal with the ramifications of what he has done and tries to get Carly to not tell Michael (Chad Duell) the truth.

Written by then-head writer Ron Carlivati, the episode starts off in black and white with General Hospital’s doctors and nurses of the past being paged. Viewers are then brought to the present day with Monica (Leslie Charleson) facing the reality of losing her son, AJ (Sean Kanan), only to be comforted by the ghost of her deceased daughter, Emily (Natalia Livingston). Meanwhile, Bobbie (Jacklyn Zeman) learns that Noah Drake (Rick Springfield) is in love with someone else, while Lucy (Lynn Herring) is determined to end her affair with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) for good.

Originally aired on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the episode (#13026) attracted 2.9 million viewers.
