On Tuesday, April 28, during the west coast broadcast of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless,” actor Bryton James (Devon Hamilton) will be tweeting live and going live on Instagram as he chats with fans as they re-watch a classic episode of the series originally aired in 2004 as part of “Katherine The Great” (Jeanne Cooper) week on CBS. For those east coasters who will have already watched the show since it airs at 12:30 p.m. EDT, you can join in too!
“Don’t miss it!!! Get yo questions ready!” said James of the upcoming social blast.
Originally aired on July 5, 2004 (#7917), the episode finds Katherine’s loved ones, including Jill (Jess Walton), Brock (Beau Kazer), granddaughter Mac (Ashley Bashioum), and Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman), stage an intervention in the hopes Katherine will finally address her aberrant drinking problem. Meanwhile, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) reveals the truth to Daniel (Michael Graziadei) about his paternity, explaining Danny (Michael Damian) isn’t his biological father and that she tricked him into believing he was. Also, Dru (Victoria Rowell) has it out with Devon about his growing friendship with Lily (Christel Khalil), demanding he stay away from her daughter.
The storyline will continue on Wednesday, April 29 when the show airs part two (Episode #7918; OAD: July 6, 2004). That episode begins with Katherine’s family walking out on her. As she falls asleep on the couch, Katherine is visited by “ghosts” from the past, including Phillip III (Thom Bierdz) and Rex Sterling (Quinn Redeker). Phyllis and Christine argue. Lily defends Devon. Nicholas (Joshua Morrow) protects Sharon (Sharon Case) while Saron realizes Grace (Jennifer Gareis) is too close for comfort with Cameron (Linden Ashby).
