Sara Aguilar’s death in “Señora Acero‘s” second season finale was ratings gold for Telemundo. The episode ranked as the number one broadcast program, regardless of language, at 10p among Adults 18-49 and 18-34.Â
Starring Blanca Soto as Sara, the series delivered 2,650,000 total viewers, 1,500,000 Adults 18-49 and 733,000 Adults 18-34, according to Nielsen. During its second season run, Telemundo averaged 1,129,000 Adults 18-49 and 565,000 Adults 18-34, ranking as the #1 Spanish broadcast network in the Monday-Friday 10p hour.
On the digital front, the finale was the #1 show on Facebook among all networks and day parts with 1,100,000 engagements. The series also reached over 22,000,000 global Facebook users during finale night (+162% vs. season one), and also generated a total of 690,000 actions across Facebook and Twitter (+172% vs. season one).
A third season of Señora Acero has already been ordered and is underway, according to head writer Roberto Stopello. He announced the news on Twitter, following season two’s finale, along with a teaser about what viewers can expect now that Sara is gone. Apparently, El Gallo and Salvador will be taking control of the business.
