

This time last year the stars of CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” were celebrating a milestone as the daytime drama series officially marked its 25th consecutive year as the most watched in daytime, as noted in the images above. Now a year later, the soap opera is celebrating 26 consecutive years at numero uno!
During the week of December 8-12, 2014, “Y&R” averaged 4.76 million viewers and led the week in both Women 25-54 (1.8/12) and Women 18-49 (1.2/9) rating. The soap was up 4% in viewers week to week (vs. 4.57 million viewers).
Season to date, “Y&R” is averaging 5.04 million viewers, and is pulling in a solid 2.1/14 in Women 25-54 rating and 1.4/10 in Women 18-49 rating.
“Y&R’s” ratings dominance as the most watched daytime drama series began with the week of December 26, 1988, according to Nielsen Media Research ratings data.
