CBS’ dramatic series, “The Bold and the Beautiful,” may be getting a shot of comedic relief: Famous funnyman Fred Willard is heading to the sudser for a four-episode arc as the younger brother of Eric Forrester (John McCook)!

According to a B&B rep, Willard’s character — who’s also the father of the show’s new Aussie beauty, Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer) — is a traveling salesman-inventor/party boy who decides to make a pit stop in Los Angeles to reconnect with his family members. He reports to the set on Wednesday, August 27 to star filming his four-episode arc.

Though known for a variety of comedic roles on shows and films like “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,” “Best in Show,” “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “Roseanne,” “Mad About You,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and “Modern Family” (where he currently plays Phil Dunphy’s dad, Frank), there’s no word yet on whether or not his “B&B” role will also be funny. To find out, catch the star when he debuts on the soap the first week of October!
