(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Contract negotiations could take Cristian Vega out of Llanview.

Soap Opera Digest reports that they are hearing from a source close to the soap that Fumero, who has portrayed the son of diner owner Carlotta Vega on and off for more than a decade, is leaving “One Life to Live” at the end of his current contract. However, Digest is also stating that a spokesperson for the show is telling that talks are still ongoing between Fumero and “One Life.” That sentiment was echoed by ABC Soaps in Depth, who tweeted that “As of now, David Fumero is in negotiations. So we’ll have to see how it all plays out… that’s what our sources are telling us.”

Fumero took over the role of the younger Vega brother from Yorlin Madera in June of 1998. He left the show in October 2003, only to return briefly from late 2004-early 2005. In September of that year he returned to the show full-time. Fumero is married to his his former co-star Mellisa Gallo (ex-Adriana Cramer).

SON will continue to follow this story and bring you further details as they develop.

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Anytime on ABC.com and SOAPnet.com. Check local listings.
