‘All My Children’ Alum Lands NBC Pilot

Former “” star (ex-Kelsey Jefferson) has joined the cast of the NBC pilot “After Hours,” which centers on a group of Army doctors who work the night shift in the emergency room at San Antonio Medical Center. The series is described as a cross between “” and “,” with storylines loosely based on true incidents that have occurred at a real-life hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Warner will portray Amy Budden, a nurse at the hospital.

Final Destination for MacInnes Wood is the Big Screen

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) – - makes her big screen debut this month in the 3D horror-thriller “Final Destination 5″.

Wood, who currently portrays young spitfire vixen Steffy Forrester on CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful”, can be seen in the fifth installment of the “Final Destination” horror film series when it hits theaters this Friday, August 12, 2011. Wood portrays Olivia, one of the survivors of a bridge collapse, who later finds herself in a dangerous predicament while going through laser eye surgery (see clip below).

“Final Destination 5″ also stars Nicholas D’Agosto (“House,” “Supernatural”), Emma Bell (“Supernatural,” “Law & Order”), (“,” “Hank”), (“,” ““), Courtney B. Vance (““, ““) (“Gary Unmarried,” “Huge”), (“American Dreams”), Miles Fisher (“Gossip Girl,” “Mad Men”), and Tony Todd (“24,” “Boston Public”).

Darin Brooks Gets Ready for SpikeTV

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “” may be a sinking ship, but that won’t stop (Max Brady) from expanding his horizons.

Brooks has signed on to star alongside former NFL running back-turned-actor Ed Marinaro (“Sisters,” “Hill Street Blues”) in the SpikeTV comedy pilot “” from Lionsgate Television and Varsity Pictures, reports .

While still in the pilot stage, “Mountain” is a scripted series surrounding three college freshman who join the Midwestern college football team of Blue Mountain State University, and must adapt to college life while juggling football, girls, classes and hazing rituals. Brooks will play Alex, a talented quarterback content with riding on the bench, while enjoying college parties. The pilot was written by and (“The Sarah Silverman Program”). Romano will play Sammy, Alex’s best friend,  who aspires to be the school’s mascot.

The potential series will also stars Sam Jones III (““) as Craig, a top recruit and future pro footballer, whose life is already mapped out by his controlling girlfriend, Denise (played by , ““). (““) will portray Thad, a senior on the football team who loves hazing incoming freshman.

Brian Robbins serves as the potential series’ executive producer.

At this time, it is still unclear as to whether “Blue Mountain State” will interfere with Brooks’ “DAYS” obligations if it receives a full series commitment from SpikeTV.

‘Jersey Boy’ Becomes ABC ‘Child’

In the last couple of years ABC Daytime has had a nack of hiring actors and actresses with Broadway backgrounds, most noteably Renee Elise Goldsberry (“The Color Purple”), as Evangeline Williams and (““) as Marcie Walsh on ABC’s “.” Now the network has hired Broadway star for a recurring role on “.”

Hoff, who can currently be seen as one of the stars of the hit Broadway musical, “,” playing Tommy DeVito, is joining “Children” in the recurring role of Marty. Marty works for Zach Slater (Thorsten Kaye) at his casino as one of his henchmen. Hoff first airs January 30.
