Austin and Terri: How 'World Turns' Made 'Life' Happen

      Copy/Paste not allowed. Link only.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Austin Peck and Terri Conn recently joined the cast of "." Conn in the winter and Peck in today's episode. Before getting hired on at the ABC soap, the two veteran soap stars starred on CBS' "As The World Turns" as on screen husband and wife Brad Snyder (Peck) and Katie Peretti-Snyder (Conn). In an interview with Soap Opera Network conducted at the after party for ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS earlier this month, the two talk about the differences of working on "World Turns" to that of "One Life" and delve into their new characters' backgrounds.

While "As The World Turns" ended its run in September 2010, actress Terri Conn quickly nabbed the role of Aubrey Wentworth, the conniving wife of Joey Buchanan (Tom Degnan), who is the new bad girl in Llanview. Meanwhile, not much was known at the time of Austin Peck's new character, Rick, other than his storyline was a mystery. Before we get into their stories on "One Life to Live," we thought we would start things off with the question of what sets their new soap apart from their old one. "Same zoo, different animal," Peck said getting straight to the point. Conn elaborated on that by saying, "It's nice because most of it is so familiar. We have all kind of known each other from just this little world of ours. It is familiar in that way, but there are little differences. It's just getting to know a new group of people and the different ways that we work. They ['OLTL' and 'ATWT'] are both fast. I would definitely say there are different vibes, but it's been pretty similar and everyone's so cool and very appreciative to be where they are. It's just a nice work environment."

While they played husband and wife on "As The World Turns" and have oodles of chemistry on and off screen, does the two now working again on the same show mean that fans will get the chance of seeing their characters in scenes together? "Not yet," said Conn. "Not right now, I mean I don't know if there is any plans for it," Peck said. "Maybe in the future, because you don't know what is gonna happen, but right now I'm involved with a new character, Deanna, played by Nafeesa Williams. I'm excited, It is definitely very different from anything anybody has seen me do," Peck said of his character Rick. While at the time no one knew the specifics behind his characters dealings in Llanview, when it was announced in January that the actor would be joining "One Life to Live," it was recently revealed on today's episode that Rick was a porn producer, but that was not the role many had pegged him to play. "People think you're going to be a gay character," Conn told Peck. "Really? That would be cool," he replied. Of course, we can can now cross that off the list. "Yeah, cross that off the list," said Conn. "Well, you never know," she continued. "You never know," Peck echoed.

On the topic of Aubrey and her dealings with the Buchanan clan, Conn enthusiastically shared that "Aubrey has gotten herself into a bit of a pickle, because I think she really likes Llanview and she really is in love with Joey and that wasn't her intention." Of course, being a soap, a bad girl always has to have a trick or two up her sleeve, not to mention a boy or two on the side. So what about Aubrey's dealings with Cutter (Josh Kelly), who is now having an affair with Dorian (Robin Strasser)? "He's gonna make his rounds," said Conn. But does that mean Cutter is becoming the town whore? "Yeah, basically," the actress laughed.

Check back soon for an interview with Tom Degnan and Josh Kelly, who talk about the Joey switch and friendship.

Underwood’s ‘Life’ Not Ending as Planned

Underwood's 'Life' Not Ending as Planned

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Despite earlier reports to the contrary, it now appears as if Friday, April 8 will not be Brittany Underwood’s last airdate as Langston Wilde on “” after all.  But that doesn’t mean that fans should get their hopes up that the show has had a sudden change of heart and decided to keep Underwood, who has been with “OLTL” since 2006, on the canvas.

Instead, the actress will be leaving the following week.  On Tuesday, April 12, Langston shocks her best gal pal Starr () with the news that she is leaving town to work on a movie, at the request of adopted mum Dorian (Robin Strasser).  That’s right, it seems that she and David (Tuc Watkins) learn of some unrest on the set of “Vicker Man: The David Vickers Story,” and decide to take over as the film’s producers.  Futhermore, they want Langston to pen the script for the biopic which, of course, means she has to relocate in order to do so.  So much for a dramatic exit…

On a related note, Jason Tam makes his brief return as Markko Rivera on Monday, April 11. But just what brings Markko back?  Judging by the timing, it could mean that he is working on the movie as well.  Remember that he is a film student at UCLA, after all.  What do you think?

As she's about to run errands, she gets a call from the pastor telling her that there's a problem regarding Lucy's birth certificate. Before Victoria can ask any further, Billy tells her he'll handle things.

Victor tells Michael that he wants to discuss making arrangements to settle. A stunned Michael tells Victor to think things through, but Victor tells him, he's made up his mind. Diane, who is there, quickly excuses herself and is immediately on Nick's doorstep. She wants to know how Victor knows about the two of them. Nick tells her he didn't say anything. Before she leaves, she tells Nick about Victor working with Michael on a settlement plan.

Nikki, who is talking with Vance, purposely tries to make Deacon angry. She soon excuses herself for a brief moment. Vance then calls Michael to tell him that he's turning up the heat for Victor to settle. Michael soon overhears him talking to the waitress about Nikki joining him for lunch. Once off of the phone, Michael tells Victor that Vance might be up to something, and tells him about Nikki. Victor makes arrangements to be at Gloworm to see what's going on.

Abby is excited to meet Martin Beenum regarding putting The Naked Heiress on cable. Things are going good until he tells her that they should use the outcome of the lawsuit as a springboard for the first season. She stresses that she doesn't want to use her family problems for her show. Martin tells her that drama is what sells and what she's been through would be great to get viewers. Martin soon leaves when Abby still refuses to go that route.

Agnes starts probing to find out about the baby Jana was asking about. Jana tells her that she's looking to help a friend find her baby. Agnes soon breaks down and tells her about a horrible woman she sold her baby to.

Billy learns from the pastor that without an original birth certificate he won't be able to christen Lucy. Billy promises him that he'll get it for him and the christening will go as planned. He calls Primrose and demands that they meet. When she arrives, Billy lashes out about her costly errors and demands that she fix the problem that minute. When she makes the corrections on the birth certificates, Billy warns her that he better not have to contact her again with any other problems for her to correct.

Nick tells Victoria about their father wanting to settle. She is surprised but ready to get her hands on Beauty of Nature as planned. When he asks about Abby, Victoria tells him that she'll work on her to get her to be on their side. Shortly, Abby arrives and Victoria tells her about Victor's plans to settle. She soon starts to sweet talk about into doing as she wants her to do. Abby initially refuses to be a part of it, but Victoria not wanting to give up, works her over until the young woman says yes.

Michael tells Daniel that Phyllis hired a private investigator to search for Daisy. He says that there is a possible lead that he's going to check out. Daniel tells him that he wants to join him in finding her.
