  • Nice to see only marginal losses for Y&R. BB is also up in some demos. Thanks for the early ratings!

  • sands of time

    Congrats to DAYS and GH!!

  • sands of time

DAYS is up in everything except -2,000 compared to last year’s 18-34 demo!!!

  • sands of time

I wish somebody on this board could notify me if and when the lesbian storyline begins on The Young and the Restless.

I think for GH Tuesday was what they did them in.Plus since GH had gains in all 3 demos i’m thinking they lost most of those 63,000 viewers from people over 54.

    • Elizabeth_Erwin

Wait ’til the ratings come out for this week – I think RC is making a concerted effort to lose all the viewers over the age of 54 because, lemme tell ya, no one that age is interested in hearing three gay men talk about having a threesome.

      • stopbeinghomophobic

Its 2014 stuff like that happens stop being homophobic

        • Elizabeth_Erwin

No homophobia here – at all. We are talking about a story completely lacking in the development of any relationships and simply playing on bad taste. Go read some of the message boards, even gay viewers are finding this digression completely offensive. Taste is timeless and bad taste is always bad taste.

      • KansasGuest

The ratings will rise for GH because the threeway talk is a B-story & just that – all talk, no action. People will tune in for the top A-stories – Robin reviving Jason & Levi’s unmasking. EVERYONE wants to see Levi exposed…so to speak. 😉

Andrew, both of your statements make a lot of sense. And other than the Tuesday drop, the four other days were remarkably steady, including Friday (which is unusual for GH on the average). I know that yesterday (Wednesday) Time Warner Cable lost its signal for ABC during GH’s airing in my area in NY (and they did not even put the episode on the OnDemand yet; I called TWC about it and, as usual, they had no answers, except to advise that OnDemand was handled by their division in Texas). Fortunately, I got to view the whole episode on YouTube. I do not know how extensive that blackout was, but again I am sure it will drag on the ratings for that day to some degree. It really seems like every week in the 2:00 PM EST slot GH is being hit by preemption or some such nonsense. I’m hoping that the shift to 3:00 PM in the fall will mean less of that. But, on the whole, their numbers have been steadily holding … I enjoy them, so it is nice to see.

  • TV&MovieBuff

Not too bad ratings for everyone considering this is the end of summer for many and they were off to get away before school starts back. Most schools around either started one of the last three weeks.

I’m sure that the way Day’s producers and writers think these days that they will interpret these last 2 weeks of increases as viewers love Daniel and want to see more of him.

Is this the first week in awhile that GH did not have one day over 3 million?

Glad Y&R and B&B didn’t drop across the board. And glad Y&R has seemed to stop the hitting new lows for awhile.

    • Andrew Hass

It was a good week because only one went down in total viewers and of that one GH gained viewers in all 3 demos. So in way GH won and lost for the week.As for Days yeah they are up from last year but last year they were in lat place too but only 64,000 behind GH.They are 401,000 behind GH.As for DOOL because they tape so far in advance they don’t look at the ratings the way the other soaps may do in terms of seeing what the fans like or don’t like.

  • MattArmando

Good for GH gaining back the #2 spot in 18-49.

  • nyvoter

Today’s episode on #GH (8/15) was the one that Alison Sweeney directed. I have been keeping my eye on the credits and her name popped up under “director.” In my opinion, she did a very good job.

  • Mention GH or DOOL and nobody cares.
