Disney-ABC Domestic Television announced today that it has a new new daily lifestyle syndicated talk show in development for 2015 with supermodel, business woman, producer, and media mogul as host and executive producer. Produced by Disney-ABC’s Summerdale Productions and distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television, the yet-to-be named nationally syndicated show will broadcast from Los Angeles. This marks Banks’ return to daytime television after hosting “,” which ran for five seasons, first in syndication (2005–2009) followed by a final season on The CW (2009–2010).

“Tyra is an enormous and vibrant talent with widespread appeal and we’re eager to introduce her new lifestyle show that will incorporate her personal message of self-confidence to the syndication marketplace,” said , president, Disney-ABC Domestic Television.

“Tyra is truly unique in that she is both aspirational and extremely relatable to women of all ages,” added , executive vice president, Daytime & Syndicated Programming, ABC Entertainment Group. “With an extraordinary social media following and legions of fans built over her years on television, Tyra is more relevant than ever. She is the ideal personality to infuse lifestyle content with fresh energy, humor, and the practical information the daytime audience craves.”

“The fire to inspire women and help them to blaze new paths fiercely burns inside of me,” commented Tyra. “I’m excited to be partnering with Disney-ABC to usher in a new era of lifestyle, beauty and entertainment that will inspire women to be the CEO of their lives via honesty, humor and the newest tips and tricks without being intimidating or precious. To my fierce fam of future viewers: I can’t wait to shake up daytime TV together. I have a lot of information to give and still lots to learn. Let’s do it!”

As the show will be airing in national syndication, it isn’t expected to affect ABC’s “,” which was moved from its longtime 3:00 PM EST/2:00 PM PST timeslot in September 2012 to 2:00 PM EST/1:00 PM PST following the syndicated launch of “” in its former time period. “” has since been canceled and will remain on the air in reruns until at least early September 2014, leaving its slot on several ABC stations up for grabs.

Nice move picking up a washed-up Supermodel. It’s apparently obvious what ABC want in the future for it’s network, and it isn’t long longevity for the residents of Port Chuckles.

At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is what ADVERTISERS want. And they want more of the top ratings that GH – and NONE of the crappy shows that replaced soaps – is drawing in the key demos.

You should tell that to ABC, apparently they are doing anything they can to get your beloved show off the air. I say kudos to ABC if they can make it happen. Might as well look to the future.

Why will ABC not bring All My Children and One Life To live on for thirty minutes
a piece and partner with Prospect Park. Millions miss these shows and it would not be hard to use the things that were in place to revitalize these classic shows. I like Tyra Banks, but they could give her a show on the weekend that explores trends, highlights her others pursuits, and even have cross promotion between the shows. ABC will not do this because they are stupid, I watch General Hospital and that is all I do, they have pretty much disallusioned me.

I also wish ABC would bring back AMC and OLTL too but i don’t see that happening as long as PP has the rights and because of the lawsuits.I don’t think ABC and PP will ever work together.Plus some of the actors from AMC and OLTL have moved on to other things.

I’m fine with Tyra Banks getting a talk show on ABC because i’m not going to watch it anyway.Plus i’m sure it’s going to affect GH and that’s what matters to me.

  • Only watch GH

We still won’t watch that crap! It’s GH, AMC and OLTL or NOTHING!
