“The Young and the Restless’” Robert Adamson (Noah Newman) is the latest actor from the series to speak out in light of the vitriol spouted on social media against co-star Hunter King (Summer Newman) following allegations that Michael Muhney (soon-to-be ex-Adam Newman) groped her breasts, which reportedly is what ultimately resulted in his firing last month.

Tweeting a quote by German psychoanalyst Erich Fromm, which states, “The task we must set for ourselves is not to feel secure, but to be able to tolerate insecurity,” Adamson said to his followers, “The way my friend is being treated is appalling. No one deserves it less. I’m sure it feels safe behind this twitter veil to be callous and cruel, but every time Hunter handles these comments with grace, she simply shows her ability to tolerate the insecurities of faceless sycophants.”

So happy to see the show of support from Hunter’s co-stars. Whatever the truth is as to what happened, we may never really know. My whole problem with the situation is the silence this was treated with by the women in charge. JFP and her cohorts should be the ones speaking out, yet their silence is deafening.

So when did Hollywood become such a holy city? Did they retire the casting couch? So when did actors start getting fired for alleged sexual harassment? This entire story about Michael Muhney is fishy & doesn’t make any sense.

    • Roman

So you were there and can tell us what really happened right?

      • peaches

        Right Roman

    • Fred

So I suppose you were there Roman and Peaches? Show me the proof. Where is the police report and where are the witnesses? Innocent until proven guilty or are we in Hitlers Germany? interesting that all of these alleged accusations happened after muhneys Emmy nomination. Can we say bruised egos, backstabbing and jealousy? Hmmmm

They have been getting fired for it for years. That is basically why Robert Kelker Kelly was let go from Days years ago. The women refused to work with him anymore.

It is a crime everywhere to do it now. The sad thing is that many people won’t turn it in because of people like you who blame the victim instead of the low life trash who should be blamed.

Why fight for what is right when people are willing to overlook what a person does just because they think he is a good actor or they think he is good looking and want to get in his pants.

I applaud Hunter King for standing up and saying no. And the people blaming her for the way she dresses or whatever — God forbid that someone reaches over and grabs your crotch or your breasts without you wanting them too — because obviously you asked for it too.

I don’t believe he did it they are making a mistake getting rid of him great actor i loved him

  • Ginger Crowder Purdy

Hope she is happy with herself she cost him his job

    • Bexx

If he did it, then he should be fired. Period.

    • Roman

He groped her breast and its her fault? there are some truly sick people out there.

      • Georgia

No one can prove that MM did anything to King. MM has a little girl so I don’believe for 1moment he ” touched” King. Something smells with this whole story. And what actor doesn’t have a monstrous ego. If tou look up “ego” in the dictionary Eric Braeden’s name would come up first, then melody’s. it wouldn’t surprise me if King made unwanted advances toward MM, that makes more sense.

  • Pattie Estep

I hope he is ready to be looking for a job too. This show is doomed.

    • Bexx

Doom? Y&R was around before Sir Lawrence Olivier…err, excuse me, Mr. Michael Muhney. Five years isn’t exactly 20 in Daytime, so this notion that because whinny fan-girls threaten to boycott the loss of their heartthrob Y&R will crumble is silly. The cast isn’t going anywhere, and the show will rebound.

      • peaches

        Exactly Bexx

  • Tom Hunter

If Hunter was one of your daughter’s would talk poorly about her like this? I am especially shocked at women who are blaming the victim!! What is wrong with all of you??

    • peaches

Tom I have been saying this from day one. And it leads me to believe these women would say these things about their own daughters or female relatives.

    • Fred

First of all, I wouldnt let my daughter on a set in Hollywood or a bar for that matter if she didn’t understand the adult atmosphere. This show has a reputation for groping tolerated as horseplay as it’s widely known that Jeanne Cooper groped her male costars in jest on the set. This isn’t a church camp. It’s Hollywood. Secondly, I would never let my daughter dress like hunter king as witnessed in the starlets photos online.

  • PatF

So many of her costars have now come to her defense and have said nothing to him. I’m shocked that people still don’t get it. He’s not coming back to the show. EVER. And he admitted that for whatever reason he was fired…it was HIS fault. Time to move on, and for those that can’t, I’d suggest turning the show off to avoid further stress on your health.

    • Bexx

What I don’t understand is being pro Muhney, yet still wanting him back at CBS. According to his fans CBS/Sony is trying to destroy him, so why would anyone want him back there? Muhney is finished at CBS. It’s time for his fans to move on.

  • Bexx

Nicely handled, Robert. The sick things people have said about Hunter is disgraceful. Soap fans continue to show their ignorance, it’s no wonder we aren’t taken seriously. Even if you side with Muhney, and believe the allegations to be untrue, there is still a window where it might be true. Then what? If it laters comes out that he did in fact assault her, will these rabid she-dogs still ‘slut-shame’ her?

    • peaches

      I so agree

  • Kcalgary

I agree that she is being bullied and fans need to stop regardless of who they support. As I’ve said before, it’s great to have passion for a cause or an actor’s talents but not at the expense of a 20 year olds emotional well being.
