(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — “All My Children” actors prove to have the golden touch at the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards.

Debbi Morgan, who plays Dr. Angela Hubbard on “All My Children,” and Cornelius Smith, Jr., who plays Morgan’s on-screen son Dr. Franklin Hubbard, scored victories at the 41st Annual NAACP Image Awards on the evening February 26.

This was Morgan’s sixth NAACP Image Award Nomination since 1996 in categories that range from Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture (“The Hurricane”) to Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (“Soul Food”). For the second consecutive year, the talented actress picked up the Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series Award for her work on “AMC.” Morgan was up against a slew of multiple-time NAACP Image Award nominees and winners which included Eva Marcille, Tatyana Ali and Tonya Lee Williams from CBS’s “The Young and the Restless,” and Daphnee Duplaix from ABC’s “One Life to Live.” Morgan tells Soap Opera Digest that being rewarded for the second year in the row by her community for playing a positive role model “makes [her] so proud to still be playing the role of Angie.”

Smith, Jr. picked up a win in the Outstanding Actor in a Daytime Series category for his work on the ABC soap he joined in the fall of 2007. This was the young actors second nomination and first win. Smith’s competitors included Bryton McClure (who earned the award in 2009) and Cassius Willis from “Y&R,” Terrell Tilford from “OLTL,” and Texas Battle from CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful.” A thrilled, albeit nervous, Smith, Jr. reported to Digest that everything “went blank” when he heard his name announced as the winner.

Soap Opera Network congratulates Morgan and Smith, Jr. for their wins. For a full list of Image Award winners, click on the following link: 2010 Winners!

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings. “AMC” now also airs online at ABC.com and can be accessed 24/7.
