Nelson Branco, best known as the writer of the popular Suds Report column for website TV Guide Canada and his contributions to magazine Hello! Canada is back! This time he’s Uncensored. With Soap Opera: Uncensored fans of Branco will notice the same writing style from his Suds Report, which includes an interview, translated comments on daytime moves, a breakdown of what’s happening on each soap and his uber popular Blind Items.
On Thursday, July 28, while visiting the “Days of our Lives” set, my crew and I had walked in noticing a tray of cupcakes sitting at the security desk. Turns out it was brought in by Molly Burnett, who was celebrating her third year portraying the role of Melanie Layton on the daytime soap. After completing some scenes that are set to air in October, Burnett and Casey Deidrick (Chad DiMera) headed outside to Salem Place, one of the sets no longer used by the soap, and spent more than 11 minutes talking with us about their characters, what they do in their personal life outside of work, and some of their favorite TV shows and movies . Also, for those fans clamoring for some Chill (Chad/Will), Deidrick shared he’s not opposed to a possible pairing.
Francisco San Martin is the next actor out at NBC’s “Days of our Lives” as another week comes to a close where blood is spilled at the fledgling daytime drama series. The actor tweeted the news to fans before the show could make it official.
With the news that “Days of our Lives” has let Gary Tomlin go as co-executive producer and Soap Opera Network unable to confirm who is replacing him at this time, rumors began swirling that actor Mark Hapka would be returning to the daytime drama series just days after reportedly stating that someone in particular (possibly Tomlin) was in the way of his employment with the show.
As previously reported, “Days of our Lives” has cast daytime newcomer Francisco San Martin in the role of Dario Hernandez, Rafe (Galen Gering) and Gabi’s (Camila Banus) brother. Interestingly, the actor previously appeared on “DAYS” in mid-November in the role of Javier Rodriguez, a sick patient that died as he was causing a deadly outbreak at Salem University Hospital while in the presence of Melanie (Molly Burnett) and Nathan (Mark Hapka).
Mark Hapka marks his steamy debut on Wednesday, June 17 as Nathan Jannings on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.” In this photo released by JPI Studios, Hapka gives actress Molly Burnett and her character Melanie Layton a welcoming surprise after the two meet under unusual circumstances.
