It's official: Jerry O'Connell will become the first permanent male co-host of CBS' "The Talk" as the show launches its 12th season in September. He replaces Sharon Osbourne.

CBS has renewed "The Talk" for a 12th season despite continued audience erosion, including another series low during the week of June 7-11, 2021. No replacement for Sharon Osbourne announced.

Airing originals during the week of April 26-30, 2021, "The Talk" hit a total audience low and continues to rank last in the key sales demos that set daytime advertising rates.

"The Talk" returns with all-new episodes on Monday, April 12 following Sharon Osbourne's exit with a discussion on "race" and "healing" which will include experts who will talk about diversity, equity, inclusion and justice.

Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood's on-screen spat isn't the real reason why "The Talk" is in trouble. In fact, their confrontation might just be the reason the show might get a boost.
