After tying its season and series low in the key demos last week (excluding MLB Wild Card Series week), “General Hospital” came roaring back during the week of December 29, 2025 – January 2, 2026 with a 0.20 rating in Women 18-49, which marked a new season high for the ABC drama and saw it tie “The Bold and the Beautiful” for second place among soaps.

“General Hospital” was up +0.06 week-to-week among Women 18-49 (0.20 rating vs. 0.14 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.27 rating vs. 0.21 rating), while setting a new season high among Total Viewers with 2.008 million tuning in, an increase of +170,000. This was the show’s most watched week overall since the week of July 28 – August 1, 2025. Compared to its performance during the same week last year, the soap opera was up +0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.20 rating vs. 0.19 rating). Though not factored into the show’s weekly average, a rebroadcast of the late Anthony Geary‘s final episode as Luke Spencer on Thursday, January 1, 2026 (New Year’s Day) averaged a 0.17 rating in Women 18-49 and a 0.22 rating among Women 25-54, which was a rare performance for a repeat broadcast. The episode originally aired on July 27, 2015.

“The Young and the Restless” set a new season high among Total Viewers with 3.002 million viewers tuning in, an increase of +112,000, and the show’s largest audience since the week of August 4-8, 2025. Among Women 18-49, the show was up +0.02 week-to-week and ranked No. 1 among soaps, topping last week’s leader “The Bold and the Beautiful” (0.21 rating vs. 0.20 rating). Among Women 25-54, the series was down -0.01 week-to-week (0.35 rating vs. 0.36 rating).

Speaking of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” the half-hour soap opera was up week-to-week among Total Viewers (2.594 million vs. 2.587 million), flat among Women 18-49 (0.20 rating) and down -0.02 among Women 25-54 (0.30 rating vs. 0.32 rating).

“Beyond the Gates” was up +63,000 viewers week-to-week (1.599 million vs. 1.536 million) and up +0.03 among Women 18-49 (0.15 rating vs. 0.12 rating), despite continuing to rank last in the latter category for the third consecutive week. The show tied its season high among Women 25-54 (0.26 rating).

“GMA3” and “NBC News Daily” set new season highs among Total Viewers with both news programs attracting their largest overall audiences in at least a year. Up +112,000 viewers week-to-week, “GMA3” averaged 1.507 million viewers and saw its most-watched week since the week of January 20-24, 2025, and its largest overall since dropping the “What You Need to Know” moniker in June 2025. “NBC News Daily” averaged 1.582 million viewers, attracting its largest audience since the week of January 6-10, 2025.

The second half-hour of “The Price is Right” tied its season high among Women 25-54 (0.66 rating), while its first half-hour set a new high (0.57 rating). Both half hours set new season highs among Total Viewers with 4.831 million and 4.158 million, respectively. This was the most-watched week for both half hours in more than a year.
