Season 2 of “Beyond the Gates” will reportedly feature 238 episodes, series star Karla Mosley (Dani Dupree) shared on Instagram in response to a post discussing the show airing another week of encore episodes and why the series is the only one doing so while the other soaps, including fellow CBS dramas “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless,” continue airing originals.
“Yeah, it’s a bummer! I think it has to do with the number of eps shot because we are a new soap,” said Mosley. “This upcoming year, we are shooting 238 instead of the 200 we did this year. And the year after that we would start doing 250 like most soaps. I think they are giving us some wiggle room to ramp up to the full 250 as everyone gets their footing in this genre.”
“Remember, the others have been around for 40 and 50 years. And so have some of the producers, actors and crew members,” continued Mosley. “It’s a different kind of rigor. But, fear not, we are hot on their heels.”
As exclusively reported by Soap Opera Network, Season 1 of “Beyond the Gates” will continue to air through the end of 2025, with episodes from Season 2, taping this month, set to air in 2026. Further, the soap opera is roughly four months ahead in terms of tape-to-air and two months ahead in script-to-tape.
The increase in episodes ordered for Season 2 will likely result in fewer encore broadcasts next season, particularly as “Beyond the Gates” premiered the last week of February 2025.
CBS renewed “Beyond the Gates” for a second season in May, with the network touting the show’s success and improving its time period by +48% among Total Viewers, according to Most Current and Season-to-Date ratings data released by Nielsen at the time.
During the week of August 25-29, 2025, the most recent week in which ratings data is available, the soap opera averaged 1.539 million viewers, its best viewership number in three weeks.
