The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) on Thursday announced the full list of nominees for “The 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” which is set to take place on Friday, October 17 at a yet to be disclosed venue in Pasadena, California, which will be available to stream exclusively via watch.theemmys.tv and associated apps.
This year, the organization will hold a single ceremony celebrating everyone in front of and behind the camera. In previous years, the Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place on a separate date, either before or after the main televised ceremony.

“We’re excited to recognize the exceptional individuals and teams who make daytime television great every year and in some cases, every day,” said Adam Sharp, President and CEO of NATAS. He added, “As the Daytime landscape continues to expand, we’re excited to introduce new categories to recognize the boundary-pushing work being done, and we’re enthusiastic to convene with and celebrate the whole Daytime community in one ceremony.”
Among the daytime dramas, “The Young and the Restless” leads with 19 nominations, followed by “General Hospital” with 16, “Days of our Lives” with 13 and “The Bold and the Beautiful” with four. “The Bay” and “Neighbours” each received just one nomination.
While there is a default target of five (5) nominees and one (1) winner in most categories, NATAS will be enforcing a longstanding rule where any category that has fewer than ten (10) submissions, no more than 50% of submitted entries may be nominated. This would explain why “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Bay” and “Neighbours” did not receive a nomination across the Daytime Drama, Writing and Directing categories as they had in prior years, more so the former two shows.
The enforcement of the rule will “ensure the integrity of NATAS competitions and maintain the reputation of excellence for nominees,” the organization noted in today’s press release announcing the nominations.
This year’s ceremony will see the introduction of new categories and the redistribution of former categories, including:
- Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Program – Eligible performers are on their first Daytime contract with no previous Daytime Emmy acting nominations. They must have been on their Daytime Drama for two years or less, and must be onscreen in a speaking role with at least one multi-episode story arc. There is no age restriction.
- Outstanding Regional Content in a Daytime Genre – This is NOT an Emmy-eligible category, but is instead national recognition for outstanding regional work that will be awarded with a crystal pillar. The parameters for this category are any regional program winner that won at their home contest between the dates of June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025 in the following applicable categories: Lifestyle, Magazine, Entertainment, and Arts/Entertainment Long or Short Form
- Outstanding Culinary Instructional Series and Outstanding Culinary Cultural Series – former Outstanding Culinary Series category
- Outstanding Travel and Adventure Program and Outstanding Nature and Science Program – former Outstanding Travel, Nature, and Adventure category
After the elimination of the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series category last year, this year, the organization announced the elimination of the Outstanding Original Song category.
No Broadcast Partner
While CBS had previously broadcast the ceremony every year since 2020, and 18 times overall, the network will not carry the awards show this year, and it will not stream via Paramount+ either, as the network has not signed a new broadcasting agreement with NATAS.
