With a combined total of 37 nominations across broadcast and its syndication arm, CBS Media Ventures, CBS leads all nominees for this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards, which were announced on Thursday by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) – see full list of daytime program nominees.
On the network side, CBS received 25 nominations, led by “The Young and the Restless,” which received the most nominations overall for an individual program, while “The Bold and the Beautiful” received four nominations. The special “Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter: An Entertainment Tonight Special” and the since-canceled daytime talk show, “The Talk,” each received just one nomination.
Among syndication programming, CBS Media Ventures garnered 12 nominations, led by “The Drew Barrymore Show” with nine, “Entertainment Tonight” with two, and “Hot Bench” with one nomination.
The nominations received came from several major categories, including Outstanding Daytime Drama Series (“The Young and the Restless”), Daytime Talk Series (“The Drew Barrymore Show”), Daytime Talk Series Host (Drew Barrymore, “The Drew Barrymore Show”) and Entertainment News Series (“Entertainment Tonight”).
Four actresses from “The Young and the Restless” received a nomination this year for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress, including Sharon Case as Sharon Newman, Eileen Davidson as Ashley Abbott, Melissa Claire Egan as Chelsea Lawson, and Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers. Peter Bergman (Jack Abbott) was the network’s sole nominee in the Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor category.
In the category of Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress, “The Young and the Restless” stars Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra) and Susan Walters (Diane Jenkins Abbott) each received a nomination, while Michael Graziadei (Daniel Romalotti) was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actor.
Nominees for Outstanding Guest Performance in a Daytime Drama Series include Clint Howard for his run as Tom Starr on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” with “The Young and the Restless” represented by Linden Ashby and Valarie Pettiford for their performances as Cameron Kirsten and Amy Lewis, respectively.
Among nominees for the newly introduced category of Outstanding Emerging Talent in a Daytime Drama Series, nominations went to “The Bold and the Beautiful” actors Christian Weissman (Remy Pryce) and Lisa Yamada (Luna Nozawa).
“The Young and the Restless” also received nominations in the following categories: Writing Team and Directing Team for a Daytime Drama Series; Outstanding Live Sound Mixing and Sound Editing, Outstanding Lighting Direction; Outstanding Casting; Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video; Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design and Outstanding Costume Design/Styling.
Rounding out the show’s four nominations, “The Bold and the Beautiful” was also nominated for Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup.
“Bob Newhart: A Legacy of Laughter: An Entertainment Tonight Special” received a nomination for Outstanding Daytime Special, while “The Talk” was nominated for Outstanding Live Sound Mixing and Sound Editing.

“Entertainment Tonight” was nominated in the Outstanding Daytime Personality – Daily category, represented by the team of Cassie DiLaura, Denny Directo, Kevin Frazier, Rachel Smith and Nischelle Turner. Meanwhile, “Hot Bench” was nominated in the Outstanding Legal/Courtroom Program category.
Additional nominations for “The Drew Barrymore Show” included Outstanding Directing Team for a Multiple Camera Daytime Non-Fiction Program; Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video; Outstanding Lighting Direction; Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design; Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design; Outstanding Costume Design/Styling and Outstanding Hairstyling and Makeup.
Among individual streamers and networks, Netflix received the most overall nominations with 32, followed by ABC and CBS, which tied for second with 25 nominations.
